I own 2 Griffin Survivor Extreme-duty Military cases for the Ipad 2 and 3. While built to Military endurance standards I find it very useful to protect
against drops by my six year old. The Griffin Survivor is a 2 layer design. A hard plastic strong inner shell is surrounded by a soft silicone rubber
outer layer that absorbs the shock when dropped. Rubber plugs, that you can't lose, protect the charging jack and head phone jacks. In addition, a hard screen protector helps prevent scratches.
My ONLY complaint is that dust sometimes makes it behind the screen protector and can't be removed without removing the case to clean the screen.
My six year old has dropped it, spilled orange juice on it and the Ipad was fine.
Highly recommended.
The only downside to this case is that the rear camera lens is covered with a "flap" that must be removed to take a picture.
You can remove it permanently with some loss of protection.
