Dearest Jesus, here I kneel, And, Dear Lord, I pray. Today he's leaving for Saigon. He'll be so far away. Into a place where war is life, And death a constant foe, Into that steaming jungle, Lord Is where my love must go. Please watch him and protect him Each and every day From all the dangers he will face While he is away. While he is there, Oh Lord, I'll try To be as true to him As any sweetheart ever was. Oh let our love not dim. While he is in that jungle, Lord Fighting for this land, Please keep him in Your constant care, And guide him by Your hand.
