Spring time still amazes me
We have lived in our house for over 21 years. We have a lot of maple trees in our yard and back our road. After all of these years, it still amazes me that it seems like one day just a little green leaf is on those trees and you turn around and look a few days later and those same leaves are as big as your hands. Amazing.
The maples around here are "blooming!" It's the flower-like thing, that precedes the seeds, but makes the tree look green! It's so pretty!
Our maples are still brown, and have just finished running sap.
Our maples' buds are exploding and in another day or two, we will have full leaves. Yes, it is remarkable how quickly it happens. We have had spring weather off and on all month, and I am glad to finally see green in the trees.
Our little maple tree, in the backyard, has little green buds, on the ends of the branches! I didn't have a jacket on and I was too cold, to actually walk over there and really look at it. I should have had a jacket on, but I was trying to cheat. By Monday, though, we could be in the 80's. My lilac bush is trying to leaf out, too. I could also see the green buds, from a distance, too.
After I wrote that, I went out and saw we have tiny buds. Hooray!! My lilacs had buds a couple of weeks ago, and tiny leaves are coming out. Yes, spring is wonderful!
That's good news, Marcia!
I noticed today, that our little flowering crab, all of a sudden has small leaves! We were gone most of the day yesterday, and I don't think I really ever looked at it. So, it seemed all new and exciting today! Also, I have whitish daffodils and more yellow-y daffodils that are both blooming now! I'm also waiting for some more tulips to bloom. We got up to 80 today and mowed our lawn, for the first time, along with several neighbors!
