Buying rugs online
Has anyone ever bought a rug online before? If so, where, and what was your experience? Sites to avoid? Brands to avoid? Anything? LOL Thanks!
I know they are expensive, but my SIL got a beautiful area rug from Pottery Barn. You can never go wrong with Pottery Barn if you have the money to spend. You could also try the major department stores online. Macy's, Montgomery Ward, Sears, Boscovs, JCPenney, etc.... they usually carry good brands. Also, have you ever tried Overstock.com? I haven't yet, but I have browsed through their area rugs and some of them look nice and some of them are rated by previous buyers. Also, the shipping is reasonable. Good Luck!
Try Bed, Bath & Beyond too!
I've only bought bathroom rugs, not big room-sized rugs.
We found several rugs 18 months ago @ Macy's online that we loved, but since hurricane Katrina, we no longer have a Macy's here. We have looked at Pottery Barn, BB&B, Linens 'n Things, furniture stores, etc. The thing is, we have a firm idea of what we want. There are a couple of rugs in particular that we found @ Macy's online that we know we want, but cannot find them anywhere locally. So we have started looking online. DH was up @ 4:00 AM today and he's made a spreadsheet, priced rugs on different sites, including their return policies, etc. What I'm trying to find out if anyone has actually purchased rugs online and what their experience was. Obviously, it's a risk. Thanks for all the responses.
Karen, we have 2 Macys in Baton Rouge and I'd take you out to lunch too! (Just thought I'd throw that in there )
Oh! Karen, my SIL did get her rug from PB online. I should have mentioned that.
We have ordered from Rugs Direct before and have been very happy with them!
Thanks Vicki! Thanks Pam..........we just never seem to make it to B.R. to shop, but I appreciate that!
