I forgot how much fun it is! :)

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2007: I forgot how much fun it is! :)

I am currently recruiting 20-24 month old kiddos to be in my dissertation research study. I spent the morning hanging out at a daycare getting parents to consent for their children to be in my study and I had so much fun hanging out with toddlers! They just crack me up. The little ones that age that I see at work only have a handful of words. It's good for me to be with "typically developing" kids because I forget how well many 2 y/os can talk. They were telling me these long involved stories and they are just so darn cute. We'll see if I still think they are so adorable after 12 weeks--LOL. I'm very encouraged though because I had a fair number of parents consent to the study. Yippee!

It is fun... I love it when Chris tells me long complicated stories... It's so hard to keep a straight face when he is being serious!

They really are a lot of fun. I really love the toddler/preschool age.

A little off topic, but I wish you could observe the 2yo (almost 3, in July) I have right now. He knows a lot of words, but isn't putting sentances together. He'll string together a bunch a babble with a word thrown in here or there. He'll repeat words, but there's still a lot that's not easily understandable. "Football" sounds like "apple", and much to Randy's dismay "Randy" sounds like "Ninny"! lol I've tried to get his dad to consider an evaluation, but he insists nothing's wrong (mom's in Spain right now--both are active duty military so it wouldn't cost them a thing!). It's so frustrating, but I'm not the parent so there's really nothing I can do. I think he'd be an interesting subject! Field trip to Colorado??? :)
