Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2007: I AM SOOOOOOO MAD !!!!!!!!
at my sister !!! I have a chance to go on a road trip with 3 of my sisters, and I'm probably not going to get to go because one of my sisters refuses to not wear colonge!!! If you all will remember, I am VERY allergic to almost everything, especially colonge,cigarettes, cleaning chemicals, etc. To the point of having to be rushed to the hospital!! The last time we all did something like this, our mother was in Penn ,with another sister, and we had to rush there because the Dr. said she might not make it thru the night. We all stayed in the same hotel room, and rode in 3 different cars( more family members went).I BEGGED my sister to not put her colonge on, because of said reasons, and she refused because she said she feels"naked" without it.I came back with"yeah, and I like to breethe ''.I am so upset right now. One of my other sisters has said she understands( her dh also has breathing problems) and even sent emails to the others. I have a very hard time standing up for myself, but I emailed the selfish sister back and told her how I feel!! She has a number of health issues herself, so I asked her how SHE would feel if I told her that she didn't really have them,and also that I would stop wearing colonge in a heart beat if I thought it was hurting her!!!! UGHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!
Well, Good luck... Sounds like she is a bit strong headed.. Hopefully someone else can get through to her, so that you can make the trip...
I can't believe that she would rather wear perfume than visit with her sister! That just amazes me. Of course, I only see my sister every 3 or 4 years so I would gladly do without to spend time with her.
Strong headed? I'd say selfish, inconsiderate, self-centered, and totally clueless. Maybe your other sisters can pound some sense into her.
Sounds like there are deeper reasons she won't go...jmho.

Doesn't sound like it will be the sister that won't go... Which is probably why she is has so little regaurd...... Wanda will be the one to miss out.. And strong headed as in full of herself and not going to relent easily... Know people like this in my every day life... My mother and her sister sound very simular..
By the way, My mom being the one full of her own wants and her sister being the one that can't get her to see beyond herself....
We had a very lengthy email conversation allll day yesterday.She got all huffy and said she's not going to go now, so we don't have to worry about the colonge! She even told me that colonge sometimes irritates her, but after she's around it for a few minutes it goes away, so mine should too!! She said some more stuff , and I cried because it hurt my feelings. But I am very proud of myself.I told her exactly how I felt, yet I did it in an adult way.I never backed down, like I usually do.You know, even though I'm 53, I'm still the "baby" of the family, and my older siblings still intimidate me !! TEE HEE But I even told her that she could decide to handle this like adults and not get mad and hold a grudge like our family is real bad about doing, or she could pull away again.She said it would be better off if she just backed out and not had anything to do with the rest of us.Yall are sooooo right.She thinks everything is all about her.And I hate that because I truely love her, and enjoy being around her.My oldest sister wasn't at work friday, so she didn't recieve the email that my sister( that understands about my breething problems )sent out to her about the situation.So, it will be interesting to see how Monday goes!! She's the bossy one in the family, teehee!!
Wanda, maybe your other sisters email will wake her up... I hate situations like this... Take care and I hope you have a great day... Sorry you are going through this...
