Can a memory foam mattress pad be cleaned??

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2007: Can a memory foam mattress pad be cleaned??

Boy was I upset yesterday!! We have a temporary house guest a very dear friend that will be moving to Italy at the end of the month. We'll in the mean time he has a boxer that is also here. Well my cats are petrified and stay in a room that they're litter boxes are in unless we bring them upstairs. Well, they were up here too long yesterday and one of them peed on my memory foam mattress pad. I personally think that there won't be anything that I can do to remove the smell, this thing is too large to be put even in a commerical washing machine. My mom thought maybe I could use oda ban on it to clean it. Has anyone heard of this? She thought that I could put it up on a couple of saw horses and use this oda ban on it and then use a garden hose to rinse it straight down through and air dry. You know not do the whole thing just the section that was damaged. I don't know what to do the thing is about $100 to replace. Sorry for rambling, does anyone know what I could do?

I don't have any advice, I just know that cat urine is a VERY tough stain to get rid of. Good luck!
