Bathroom decor opinion

We are remodeling the master bath. Well, part of the master bath I should say. The vanity area is large and open to the rest of the room (cabinet and sink), while the stool and shower are in a smaller separate room. We will be putting in new flooring throughout (neutral) and the shower and toilet are a darker cream color. We do not want to change those as they are in good shape and look nice still.

We are completely re-doing the vanity area. Replacing the cabinetry and making it bigger, adding a new countertop, sink, faucet, and mirror. The lighting fixture has already been replaced. The room is painted a sky blue color with white trim and all silver fixtures.

My question is this: I love the look of white cabinetry with silver hardware and it would go beautifully with what's already there fixture-wise (the silver towel bars and lights, etc.). BUT, I don't think I can do a white cabinet and white top due to the cream toilet/shower. SO, what are your thoughts on a white cabinet with some sort of a cream, cream speckled countertop? I have only seen one up close in the store and I didn't care for the cream top with the white, but I also didn't like the countertop at all. I just need to see more. Also do you think I could get by with white cabinetry and a cream-ish top with the cream toilet/shower or is that never going to work?

What do you think? On the other hand, the cinnamon wood cabinetry I also like just doesn't seem to go with the lighter, airy feeling in the room, and also not sure about that with the brushed silver fixtures.
TIA:)

But...if the toilet and shower are in a separate room, what is the problem? And you already said you have painted white trim in the room so you've already mixed white and cream. I must be missing something here!

How dark is the cream? Is it yellowish? Brownish? I don't think I'd like a cream top with a white bottom though. Good luck!

Can you get a cabinet that is also cream? Like an antique (think French Provincial) white?

What about a faux white marble top with a cream vein running through it?

Ame- I love the distressed look, but DH isn't too into it and we may be selling our house soon so I want it to be a more neutral style.

Kate-That's my problem! :) It is directly in the next room. I think I have this hang up that there should be some continuity between the vanity and toilet/shower in ANY bathroom, you know? I don't want it to look like we didn't "finish" the deal because the two "rooms" don't match.

Sandy- That's what I'm thinking now. The cinnamon wood that is beautiful...I just don't think I will be happy with it in the room unless I re-paint everything a darker/smokier blue. I really don't want to do that when, like I said, it's up in there if we could sell our house later this year. I think white would be beautiful in there and it's my first choice, but I'm hung up on the toilet/shower room. I saw a few countertops like you mentioned. I also saw one with cream and white flecks in it, but I'm not sure how much I like it. I have to go back and look around again.

Thank you ladies! It's hard when you can't see the room, but I thought I'd ask anyway!!

Can you post some pics.:) I've seen cream and white together and thought they looked great together.I'm also a person that likes a smooth continuous look from room to room:)

It's hard because you can't take it home and try it on. Just because it's not appealing in the store, it may look totally different at home. Good luck. ;)

Our neighbors, in our old neighborhood, had their bathroom redone before we left. She had off-white cabinets. They were beautiful. I would try and find a cream or off white cabinet if possible. Otherwise, I don't know how it would look. The only other option, that I think would look good, is to find a counter that has both cream and white in it.
