Ds's b-day is at the end of March. He wants to invite around 8 boys to a party at Laser Quest. But, here is my problem, his birthday falls right in the middle of Spring Break. I am worried if I have it during Spring Break, he will have a lot that can't come. I know 2 of the 8 boys won't be here for Spring Break. But, because of baseball tournaments(ds plays travel baseball, and plays a lot on weekends) My only other options are the weekend of Easter. I would do it that Saturday. They have no days off around Easter, so I don't think many people will travel. I could also do it on Friday night(from 6pm-8pm) right at the beginning of spring break. So, hopefully, if people are going out of town, they wouldn't leave until Saturday. Last option is to have it on a school night, but I hate to do this. It would be from 6pm-8pm, and I think that is too late, both my ds's go to bed by 8:30. So, what do you think? I am leaning towards the Friday night that Spring Break starts.

Well, up here February break just began and last night was the first night of it, and we had a church youth group overnighter and hardly anyone showed up. Even people who weren't leaving until Saturday didn't want to burden themselves with carting their child around when they needed to be packing, and they didn't want their child tired, either. I realize your party isn't an overnighter, but you're also talking about younger children so it's still kinda late for them if they're traveling the next day.

Does your son really like the two boys who wouldn't be able to come over Spring Break? Isn't there ANY weekend where your son isn't playing baseball?

I guess my choice out of your options is Saturday afternoon before Easter.

Given the options, I'd go for the Friday at the beginning of Spring Break. Given the different days you've stated, that would be the time I'd be most likely to be free to take my dks to a birthday party.

Kate, the only weekends in April, that he doesn't have baseball are Easter and the last weekend. The last weekend, is my girl's weekend, and I won't be here. So, I would have to wait until the 2nd weekend in May, which is way too late.

I only asked 2 of the boys if they would be here, and both said no. I don't know about the other 6. The 2 boys I asked are his two closest friends. Urg....I don't know what to do.
