1950's clothes
My kids' school is having a 1950's themed sock hop next Friday. Any suggestions of what they can wear? And what I can wear? ( I think the parents are supposed to dress up too) I though for dd that she could wear her little denim skirt ( i don't think they wore denim skirts then, but i'm not going to buy her a new skirt for this) and she has a pink cardigan with a black poodle on it. Put her hair in a pony tail with a ribbon and white socks with her black patent leather shoes. I don't know what my ds should wear though. Any suggestions? And other ideas for dd? thanks
Red lipstick for DD and for DS he can wear jeans with big, rolled up cuffs. Did the guys wear penny loafers back then?? Sounds like a good excuse to go rent 'Grease' for yourself! I wouldn't let your kids watch it at their ages, but you can enjoy it!
Saddle shoes and rolled up cuffs on jeans- those were the first things I thought of.
Boys wore white t-shirts with their sleeves rolled, hair slicked back, jeans rolled on the bottom with white sox and tennis shoes. Have fun and I agree rent Grease. I love that movie.
Tie matching small solid colored scarves around her neck and pony tail.
thanks for the picture, Bea. I have been thinking about the scarf too, i'll have to see if I can find one. I think i might have one around here somewhere.
