A good first day

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2007: A good first day

Yesterday was my first day of class and also dd's first day in the childcare they have at the college. She had been talking about how she was going to school and there would be boys and girls, but she only wanted to play with girls. ( Her neighborhood playmate is a boy, so I think this is something she just says) I kind of thought she might cry when it was time to actually stay there, and she did. There were only 4 little boys, no girls, lol. It figures! The ladies who work there are so great. They let her take her time getting acclimated. She has never been anywhere but with family, but that doesn't happen anymore, which is for another post. She's only ther for 2 hours, 2 days. Well, I think I will like my classes. Towards the end of my last class I was dying to see how she was doing. She loved it!!! She made a cute craft and was showing it off to everyone. She wanted me to play until I told her we could go. I asked her if she'd like to go back and she said no, but wants miss michelle to come play here! I have a good feeling about this.

Aw, how cute! It feels good when they adjust to new things, huh? Connor used to cry at the gym nursery when he was 18 months old. He cried every time for 3 months, but the cry only lasted a minute. Now, he just walks right in and gives me a kiss goodbye! :)
I'm so happy you are liking your classes! I'm envious! I miss college classes!!

I am glad you like your classes.

Your dd will be fine. It sounds like a great place for her. I had to laugh when you said she didn't want to go back. When my youngest started preschool, he would happily tell me about his day when he got home. He would go on and on about his friends, his teacher, how much he liked it. At the end he would get real serious and tell me, "but I don't want to go back" He would get up the next class day eager to go. But, would tell me the same thing when he got home. He did this for about a month. It finally got to the point that it just cracked me up.
