Party Games/Board Games
Dh and I and some of our friend have decided to start having a "Game Night" once a month so that our families can all get together to eat dinner and play. The kids will mainly play with each other while the adults play the party/board games. So far we are planning to play "Apples to Apples", "Taboo", and "Who, What, Where?". Any other game ideas? One of the other couples (there will be four couples this weekend) was asking me if there was some kind of Charades game out there and I honestly don't know. Do any of you know of one? TIA
Left, Right, Center is a game we play with our neighbors. There are three dice that have L, R, C, S (safe). You roll and if your die says L then you give a poker chip or quarter to the left, etc. It's a simple and fun game. Another one we like is Balderdash. It's very funny and easy to learn. Have fun with "game night"- it sounds like a lot of fun!
Outburst is tons of fun! We have Outburst, Jr. that we play with the kids. Yes, there is a Charades type of game, but at the moment I can't think of the name of it. Also another game that looks fun is the Fact or Crap game. There's also a Battle of the Sexes game that is lots of fun.
Guesstures is a charades type game, we have not played it in a long time but its fun. Of course you could always just have everyone in the group write down several things that you'd like to see people act out...lol that would be fun. We have Cranium. IT's tons of fun. It has a little of everything in it, drawing, spelling, acting, singing or humming, and answering questions. Fact or Crap was pretty funny to play. We played that a few years ago on New Years Eve. It was too funny to hear everyone yelling"FAACT!" or "CRAAAP!" LOL Pictionary is always fun. We played trivial pursuit, 80's version this new years eve. It was fun, except there were probably 10 people playing and only about 2 or 3 of them knew any of the answers. I had no clue. Catch Phrase is like Taboo but you don't have a list of words that you are not allowed to say. It's a fun game too. Game night sounds like tons of fun, i love playing board games!
Scene It games are fun. We have Harry Potter, Disney and Nickelodeon. They are fun to get the kids involved, too. My 5 yo is great at them. Our family favorites are Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit, and Uno. I hate to play Monopoly. Catch Phrase is fun. You sit around the room with a handheld device and pass it quickly around. It's small and easy to carry around. Have fun.
We have the new Deal or No Deal game. It's lots of fun. We also play Scene It, Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit, and Outburst. I think there is a board game that is actually called Charades.
I would have suggested Cranium and Guesstures, too! We have had fun on New Year's Eve playing those games.
Guesstures was the game I was trying to think of! And I have to add another vote for Balderdash!
Mad Gabs is fun, so is Boxers or Briefs.
We got Trivial Pursuit 90's addition for Christmas and we like that
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to make a list and take it to Game Night this weekend. I have not played many of the ones you all listed. I have played Catch Phrase before and that's a fun one! Kernkate--Do you really like the Trivial Pursuit 90s Edition? We got the TP 80s Edition for Christmas and we played it with our friends a couple of weeks ago and we were all really disappointed with it and quit playing after about 8 rounds. I guess we were all expecting more 80s pop culture.
We love Sequence. We are hooked on it and play with friends often. We also like Cranium, Uno, Scattergories, Guesstures, Trivial Pursuit, Clue, Pictionary, Outburst and Monopoly, but Sequence is definitely the best.
We have Uno Attack and have SO much fun with that one! Sometimes we laugh so hard playing it because things turn around so quickly with who's winning at the time!
theres a card game called three crowns that is alot of fun to play
We played catch phrase Christmas day at my dad's house and it was a lot of fun. I like charades too.
We play a domino game called chicken feet, it's a lot of fun with a large group, also PIT is an oldie but goodie! we played a game at a Christmas party that you help a device and word popped up on it and you gave clues, cna't remembe the name!
We ended up playing Taboo and Apples to Apples and had a blast. One of the couples brought a new game called Cranium Pop 5 that looks really fun. We are going to try that one at next month's game night. Thanks again for all the suggestions!
