What brand of foundation do you wear?
I’ve been inspired by the recent shampoo question. I'm desperately looking for new foundation- what brand(s) do you use and why do you like it?
Southern Magnolia Minerals, I can't say enough wonderful things about it!
I wear: Mark. Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup Avon I love the coverage, I find that many of the pharmacy brands either give too little or too much coverage. I like this one because it seems to give just the right amount of coverage and it dries very quickly. It almost feels like a foundation to powder make-up. It feels very light on my skin and I don't feel like I need a powder to set it. The only two down sides is that I find expensive for the amount you get in a bottle (although I get a discount) and I don't like the applicator. It has a sponge applicator attached to the lid which I'm about to remove.
I have always used Covergirl and still do.
I was always a Prescriptives or Lancome girl, until someone gave me a Maybelline Mousse Foundation (they had bought the wrong shade) and completely fell in love! It's light and the coverage is great and it's WAYYYYYY cheaper than the Prescriptives!!!!
Pam--Do you use just the foundation or do you use all the products from Southern Magnolia Minerals? I would love more info on them. Thanks!
I just started buying MAC make up, and I love it! They have a great bronzer, so I don't even need to use foundation anymore. I've been using the Vaseline Intensive Care cream that makes you look tanned, and it's really helped me to avoid that nasty, white winter skin!
Pam-- how hard was it to find the right color?
Jen and Yvonne, I bought a sample kit first. I have fair skin with pink undertones, so I went with that description. It came with blush, finishing veil, perfection powder, concealer, etc. I bought that several (maybe 6?) months ago and I still have the blush, concealer, etc. I think it looks best to use the perfection powder, foundation, and finishing veil. I rarely even have to use concealer anymore. Even though you have 3 "coats" of powder, it is very light and looks very natural. Plus since it is powder that you apply with a brush--no risk of makeup lines. Some of the links on their website aren't working, but they are also on Ebay, where I found them, and those links do work. However, I think you get free shipping if you order directly off of their website. If you get the wrong color, they have a guarantee, so you aren't stuck with it. Their customer service is fabulous too, so you can email her and ask questions about colors too. SMM is much cheaper than the other mineral makeup and I have been very satisfied with the quality, price, customer service, and fast shipping. HTH!
I wear Clinique foundation and it seems perfect for my skin...doesn't dry, doesn't make me oily, just does what it's supposed to. I've been using that for several years now. I also use their pressed powder.
Cover Girl, fragrance-free. I can't tolerate ANY scent near my eyes, so that eliminates a lot of brands. I did try the Bare Escentuals mineral make up. I bought it on QVC. I don't care for it on ME. I bought two different shades, but they both seem to turn orangey on me. My DD talked me into going to get a Clinique make-over many years ago, before her wedding. I bought about $150.00 worth of make up and only used it for a few months. I always go back to my Cover Girl. I've worn that since high school.
Covergirl or Maybeline. Mostly because I've never nothered to try any that weren't availible in my local drug store.
Max Factor Pan stick.
I wear Bare minerals! I love, love, love it
