Four weeks ago in the middle of the night a house on my street burnt to the ground. Luckily the family survived the ordeal. The fire was contained until the fire hydrants ran out of water so the entire house was destroyed (the water valve to our neighborhood was never fully opened when the development was built 20 years ago). After trying all the hydrants on the street they finally found water in the neighborhood behind ours. It was a tragedy and the entire family is having a very difficult time. They are demolishing the house today. Several 18 wheelers full of the remains just drove by. It’s so sad. They lost everything. The good news is now they can start to rebuild and look forward. Please, please, please make sure you have checked your smoke detectors. Their smoke detectors saved their lives.

Our smoke detectors are hooked up to our electric system and they also take batteries.
