When you're going through hell
Lots of folks have been through a rough time lately, and when I heard this song on the radio I thought of you all. It's a great song, by Rodney Atkins, and it made me feel much better. Here are the lyrics- hope they help! "If You're Going Through Hell" Well you know those times when you feel like There's a sign there on your back That says I don't mind if you kick me, seems like everybody has Things go from bad to worse You think it can't get worse than that And then they do You step off the straight and narrow And you don't know where you are Used the needle of your compass, to sew up your broken heart Ask directions from a genie in a bottle of jim beam And she lies to you That's when you learn the truth [Chorus] If you're goin' through hell keep on going Don't slow down if you're scared don't show it You might get out before the devil even knows you're there I've been deep down in that darkness I've been down to my last match Felt a hundred different demons breathin' fire down my back And I knew that if I stumbled I'd fall right into the trap That they were layin' But the good news is there's angels everywhere out on the street Holdin' out a hand to pull you back up on your feet The one's that you've been draggin' for so long You're on your knees might as well be prayin' Guess what I'm sayin' [Chorus] If you're goin' through hell keep on going Don't slow down if you're scared don't show it You might get out before the devil even knows you're there When you're goin' through hell keep on movin' Face that fire walk right through it You might get out before the devil even knows you're there If you're goin' through hell keep on going Don't slow down if you're scared don't show it You might get out before the devil even knows you're there When you're goin' through hell keep on movin' Face that fire walk right through it You might get out before the devil even knows you're there You might get out before the devil even knows you're there
I love this song, and think of it often. Thanks for the lyrics!
I, too, love this song. It shows, too, that we ALL have dark times and troubles. The only thing that never changes is God's love for us. That is very reassuring.
I love it too! I called this my work song when I was waiting on my job to end. My supervisor hated me and found everything to try to get at me so this song was my song except the devil did know I was there or I would still have my job.
This is one of my fav songs! when i get down and think its really bad i sing really loud this song and then get moving ( dancing) so the devil dont catch me! lol also like the song he sings "watchin you" and the song "cleaning my gun" These are two songs about a father that is taking care of his kids in his own way. watching you is about a lil boy that watches his dad and learns to cus and pray cuz he is watching his dad ..and cleaning his gun is about a lil girl going on her first date and dad questions him and gives himthe third degree and reminds him that hell be up all night cleaning his gun cuz it will prolly take that long.
I love "Watchin' You" also. Especially when he says "I'm your buckaroo, hey, ain't that cool". There is a lot of truth to that song. Children DO watch us more than we know, so it important to ALWAYS model good morals and manners. My little grandaughter loves to have me sing to her, and act out songs. I have "choreographed" a little skit to "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". She is mesmerized, then she tries to do it. It cracks me up!
DH & I love this song and it really has been our theme song since things started becoming so difficult with little dd. We knew we were in for a long wait and it just seemed like this song was made for us. It just seemed to be released at just the right time. Thank you for the lyrics. And you are right, it seems to be very tough times for everyone nowadays.
