Speaking of movies

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2006: Speaking of movies
By Paulas on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 - 03:12 pm:

I was reading Pam's post about Night at the Museum and how she got in free since the machines were down. Pam said they gave her a note so she could get in.

DH and I went to the movie the other night. We had prepaid since we thought it might be sold out. When it was time for the movie we walked in and went right in. No one asked for our tickets or anything. I wonder how many people just walk in without paying.

Unfortuataly, it's the sign of the times here. Employers are so under staffed. Some are even closing the doors b/c they can't get the staff they need.

It is the same here, Paula. We have a theatre about 10 miles away and my DS Shawn used to work there. He said that people would try to just walk in all the time without paying because the same staff had to sell tickets, sell concessions, clean up the theartre between showings, etc. Of course, if they caught them, they were told to leave.

At our theater we have to produce a ticket to enter the lobby. I'm sure though that once inside, one could stay all day and see every movie.

Ditto Annie. It would be very difficult to enter our theater without a ticket but once in, I think it would be simple to scoot from one theater to another without being seen. I've never seen a ticket check within a theater nor anyone escorted out for not having a ticket.
