Another baking question..for tomorrow morning
I'm making a breakfast casserole for Christmas morning that I always make. Normally I make what it calls for which is a 9x13 pan, but normally we are serving other 3 more people on Christmas morning. This year it will just be us and I'd like to make an 8x8 size if possible. How do I cut down the recipe? Or do I just pour in enough to fill it and dump the rest? I've only made it in a 9x13 before. I'm getting it ready tomorrow early afternoon and just regrigerating it until Christmas morning. Any suggestions are appreciated!
I would think that you could make half of the recipe. Even though it isn't quite half the pan, I think it would be fine. Just might not need as long to bake.
How high does it rise? If it is only half way up a 9x13 after it is baked, maybe you could use the same amount and it will just be thicker? I've done that with brownie mix.
It's fairly thick in a 9x13 so I figured the whole thing wouldn't work. I'll try doing half. Thanks ladies!
I'm going to try this recipe tomorrow too! I think it will be pretty good!!
