This was requested to be posted by a member. It has been checked out with Snopes and it's true.

gebhardt

Picture of John Gebhardt, a Med Group Chief in Iraq . This little girl's entire family was executed and they intended to execute her also.
The terrorists shot her in the head, but failed to kill her. She's in the hospital and healing, but has been crying and moaning The nurses said John is the only one she seems to calm down with, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both sleep in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing (from correspondence among wives of service members.)

I love this. What makes me ill is the fact that we don't see this plastered all over the papers and all over national television for people to see. I am sure that everyone would love to see things like this, hope and love, in their newspapers. This picture and story should be EVERYWHERE!!!

If this doesn't make you proud to be an American!! What a wonderful scene and a wonderful act of LOVE. God Bless these two and God Bless America.

It is a wonderful thing and I agree that it would be a good story for the newspapers, too.

Wow, that is amazing. :( It's wonderful that she finds comfort in his arms. It brings tears to my eyes to see her little head and know that she lost her entire family. :(

Thanks for posting. I for one would love to see more stories like this.

Thanks for this. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about how this soldier exemplifies Jesus' love for children.
