A book that has changed my life...
I'm sharing it here on the general discussion as it has seriously changed my perspective on things. It's called "Calm My Anxious Heart" by Linda Dillow Calm My Anxious Heart I have found myself saying more positive things and I've become happier...and, yes, ladies...it's even time for Aunt Flo and I'm in a GOOD mood. It's for anyone who needs to change their attitude about their circumstances. My best friend recommended it to me when I told her that she sounded different on the phone the past few months. She said it was this book. It's amazing. It's a Christian book, but I think it's principles can reach many others. I just had to share!!!
thank you soooo much. every year i get a book for christmas from my hubby and this year i was at a loss to which one. thank you.
I'm pretty sure I saw that book at Costco yesterday. After reading your review, I think I might buy it for my mom. My dad died almost 2 years ago, and my mom is so filled with anxiety a lot of the time. She's not negative about her circumstances, just stressed. Thanks for letting us know how much you enjoyed it.
Ok, the more I thought about it the more I wanted or needed that book. So, I just ordered it on Amazon for about $12. Thanks for the insight now I just have to wait for it to come
Thanks Heidi!! Is it written just from a woman's perspective, or could a man relate to it, too? My DH is a chronic worrier (his Dad was, too), and always looks at the dark side of everything. This would make a great gift for him.
Marcia - I remember when your Dad passed. I'm so sorry. I hope your Mom starts doing better in the New Year.
Parts of it talks to a women's psyche, but I think it's great for a man too! My step mom ordered the book from her library so my dad could read it. I honestly think anyone could take away something good from it.
I'll have to get it too. I get so anxious when I think about the upcoming court hearing regarding little dd that it sometimes overtakes me. I have been getting better thanks to advice from Ginny, but I like Linda Dillow and I definitely want to see what she has to say. Thanks Heidi.
I'll order it from the library righ tnow. Thanks Heidi.
We are doing this book right now for our neighborhood women's Bible study that I lead. We are getting a lot out of it.
