Do new digital cameras come with a battery?
We bought my parents one for Christmas, I wrapped it up, and then thought of a battery! This will be their first digital camera. Do they come with a battery or do I need to get one? It's been so long since I bought ours I can't remember. TIA
Mine came with a lithiam battery. I think most cameras come with a battery unless it uses regular AAs.
Sarah's Canon Powershot S3 IS came complete with alkaline batteries. S3 IS I think you should buy them a battery charger that comes with 4 rechargeable batteries and is able to be plugged into an outlet OR into the cigarette lighter in the car. It's great!
I agree with Dawn. A battery charger with the 4 batteries would be a great addition. Batteries run out so fast in digitals. If not a charger, the lithium batteries work for MUCH longer than regular batteries.
I'm thinking they do what kind did you get?
I agree that I would get the battery (if it didn't come with it) and a charger. I would also take it a step further and open it and charge them up so they can begin taking pictures as soon as they open it! That way, since it is their first, you can help get them started!
Some come with, some don't. Also, some come with the chargers, some don't. Both my DSLRs (Canon & Nikon) came with batteries and chargers, however, DH's Olympus did not come with a charger and we had to buy that and another battery separately. Also, some come with the memory/flash cards and some don't! Don't assume it does, read the box. My DSLR's DID NOT come with those. Neither did DH's camera. And often, if they do come with it, it's a small one, so getting another card is a good idea too.
Sarah's camera was ready to use, when she opened the box, since it came with alkaline batteries.
I bought the battery charger with 4 batteries for mine and its great.I always can have charged batteries.LOL Mine also can get charged in the car.
