Lead in children's toys and jewelry
The Washington Post has a consumer protection blog by Annys Shinn, and the most recent entry has to do with a recommendation by the staff of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Division that the lead content of children's jewelry be limited to .06 percent. Here is a link: Lead in Jewelry If the CPSC does officially propose this rule, there will be a public comment period. That's when you should write letters to the CPSC (with copies to your congressional representatives) if you are concerned about the lead content of children's jewelry and other items.
