Garland on fireplace mantle

How do you hang your garland from your fireplace mantle? Does anyone else do that?

By Vicki on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 - 07:17 pm:

I don't hang it, I just lay it on the top.

This year we used the command strips velcro strips to secure it. We stuck a piece on the mantel, and a piece on the back of the garland. It pulls off cleanly from both :)

We set it on top of the mantle.

I wish I had a fireplace mantle to put a garland onto! LOL!

This is the first year I've put garland on the mantle. The two outer pieces are held up by push pins. The middle parts are hanging on the stocking holders.

I use the small clips that attach with small adhesive strips. I think they are made by Scotchbrand. You can find them in the housewares or hardware dept in Target or Walmart. They hold alot of weight and do not peel the paint.

Mine sets on top of the mantle too, like Andi's.

I've done garland every year until this year. This year I did Red Berries with White lights. I just lay it on the mantel. I did the same thing when I used Green Garland.
