Believe it or not I don't have a special breakfast tradition for christmas morning, what I'd like to do is make some sort of quiche,(hope I spelled that right)but have never made one, does anyone have a good recipe? Also, do you make a special meal for christmas eve?

By Andi on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 12:08 am:

MY Dh makes waffels, bacon and we have Orange Juice.

I've also made this egg dish in the past and it's really yummy!

7 slices white bread (take the crust off)

8 Eggs

1 pound mild cheddar cheese

4 cups milk

2 tsp dry mustard

1 tsp salt

Canadian bacon

Dash Worcestershire

Grease a 9 X 13 pan

Take the 7 slices of bread and tear or cut them of into 1 inch cubes and place them at the bottom of a 9 X 13 pan

Grate the cheese & chop up the Canadian Bacon

Mix all ingredients together and then pour over the bread that is lining the bottom of the pan

Place in a oven at 350 for 1 – 1 ¼ hours

That’s it!! Pretty easy.

You can do regular bacon instead of Canadian, but then you have to cook the bacon first. Canadian bacon is pre-cooked. J

I make Andi's recipe for breakfast. It's delicious and everyone loves it. Plus I can make it the day before and just pop it in the oven on Xmas morning. I makke biscuits, too. (Refrigerated!)

My dh usually makes bacon and eggs or waffles or something other than cereal. :) His favorite is what we call the "Big Bruno Sandwich"
His name is Bruno. He just scrambles the eggs, cooks some bacon, and puts it on toasted bagels, to make a breakfast sandwich. I think he puts some cheese on it too.
I like them but it ends up being way to much food for me, so now i just do it with out the bagel part.

A friend from his work has Sausage and Egg Breakfast Pizza for Christmas breakfast every year. We go tthe recipe from him. It sounds good. If anyone wants the recipe, i'll be glad to type it out for you.

We make the same recipe that Andi posted, only we use browned sausage instead :)

By Kittycat_26 on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 10:19 am:

I'd love the breakfast pizza recipe. It might be something I could convince Timmy to eat in the morning since it would be pizza.

By Kay on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 12:26 pm:

We have baked eggs - my husbands breaks eggs into muffin tins, sprinkles them with cheese, and puts them into the oven - they're *wonderful*!

And of course, while I have my coffee, the kids have hot chocolate.

By Bellajoe on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 01:01 pm:

Here is the recipe

Sausage and Egg Breakfast Pizza

1 pkg (8 oz.) brown and serve pork sausage links cut into 1/2 inch pieces
6 eggs beaten
4 italian bread shells (6 inches in diameter)- a Boboli would work
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (6 oz.)

1 Heat oven to 400. Spray 10 inch nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Cook sausage in skillet 3 minutes or until brown. Remove from heat; set aside.

2. Pour eggs into skillet. As mixture begins to set at bottom and side, gently lift cooked portions with spatula so that thin, uncooked portion can flow to bottom. Do not stir. Cook 4-5 minutes or until eggs are thickened throughout but still moist.

3. Place bread shells on ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkled with half of the cheese. Top each with eggs and sausage. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 10 - 12 minutes or until cheese is melted.

If you'd like, you could add chopped tomato, green bell pepper, or mushrooms before topping with final cheese layer.

By Annie2 on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 03:33 pm:

Adding to Kay's baked eggs. You can line the muffin tin with a slice of bread without the crust. Make sure to spray cup first. This will make an egg cup!

We usually have cinnamon rolls, too. But since I don't like sweet breakfasts, I may make one the egg bakes for me!
