Mommy brag
My 7th grade dd was requested by Duke U to take the SAT. She took it this am. She said the math test was way over her head (to be expected) but she feels confident she did well on the Eng and essay parts of the tests. The results are not important per se but she is glad that she took the test and will know what to expect when she is a jr. in high school! There were about two hundred high school kids at the school to take the test but the 7th and 8th kids were in a room by themselves. Just wanted to share
That's wonderful! You have every right to brag!!!! That's a big thing for her, to know that Duke U took notice of her.
Good for her. My dd was also asked to take the test, but she did not want to. She was just not comfortable enough to be with the high schoolers. On a side note, the year I took it, my youngest cousin was a 7th grader, her score beat mine...YIKES. She is very smart, and I had a bad day...LOL
Wow, that is great. It is wonderful that Duke asked her to take it!
That's awesome. Smart girl you've got there.
VERY cool!
Thanks everyone! Kaye, if she is asked to take it next year, tell your dd that the 7th and 8th graders had their own room. They were separated from the older kids. My dd gave a sigh a relief when we got to the testing center and found this out!
When I was in high school and took it, they all took it together, I wonder if it is different in each location? On a personal note, ignore if you don't want to answer. Did you have to pay full price to take it? I was suprised with the cost, I didn't look into it much, but looked like we had to pay to be part of the "talent search" and then for the SAT itself. We chose not to do either, but was curious if there are other benefits that we might miss out on.
