I need fashion help, please.
Hi, ladies. I need help figuring out what "evening holiday attire" means at an adult event for my husband's work Holiday Party. The invitation says it's a Holiday dinner dance, with an Enchanted Forest theme. It starts around 630pm, dinner at 730pm, and that's about all it says. My husband went to this thing alone last year and he's no help as far as what the ladies were wearing. (I am secretly glad he didn't notice.) He thinks it's formal but not too formal which doesn't help me. So, what is evening holiday attire??? Oh, yeah. Did I mention it's this Friday? (Thanks for the prior notice, honey.) lol
I would think a cocktail dress, i.e., a short dressy evening dress. You can't go wrong with an LBD (little black dress). Sounds like fun!
Are there any ladies that work in dh's office that you could call and ask. (I used to call the secretary for dh's group with questions that dh couldn't answer.) But I so absolutely agree with LBD, maybe holiday earrings or holiday brooch to make it a little more festive. Not sure what part of Cali you are in, but maybe one of those light shawls or wraps or whatever you call them. I'm exhausted and shouldn't be giving advice to anybody about anything.
I agree that you can't go wrong with the little black dress. I also think that evening holiday attire could mean nice black pants with a sparklie (sp?) top or blouse. Something dressy, but not a formal dress.... In my mind, I think of how I would dress for a fancy new Years Eve party.
I would go with black dress pants, strappy heels, a nice top, maybe in cranberry, and add a rhinestone bracelet and earrings for some added sparkle.
A cocktail dress or dress pants with heals and a very nice top.
I agree with the above. Have fun!
Thank you ladies! I'm leaning towards the pants idea. I already have a pair of those. And I like the cranberry top idea. Should it be a velvety top or..??? Sorry, I'm not into sparkle tops too much.
Velvety or satin would look nice. I especially would think the satin would look dressy...
It is always better to be over dressed rather than under dressed.
