Wondering what you all would do
Okay here's what i've heard so far my husband told me my son pushed and hit a little boy today and the reason why is because the little boy called him a name from what i've gathered so what would you do thanks for any insight.
p.s. i haven't got to talk to my son because i was at work when i heard about this.
Hmmm... how old is your son?
Post more info when you can. Not enough here to go on.
he is 9 and special needs but the other little boy is special needs also i don't think that really matters though.
I would think that at 9, they should be learning how to control their actions. If you are on good terms with the mom of the other boy, you might mention something to her without accusing her boy of starting something, just informing her that there was an incident. Otherwise, if it were me, I might sit them both down and talk to them about being respectful of one another. I have had some experience with a couple of boys my son has played with, both brothers and both with ADHD and mild autism. One is now 14 and the other now 12, but I have been dealing with them for the past 4 years now. The 12 year old used to act like he was the oldest, very domineering and bossy, not to mention hot-headed. They are not as bad anymore. But their parents weren't dealing with their behavior, so I had to.
it happened at school and i don't know the little boys name yet i will find out more info tomorrow.
Okay, and find out if there was a teacher or staff member who witnessed it, and what if anything was done about it.
If this is the first time I wouldn't worry about it too much. Are both boys the same age or was the other boy a lot younger, that would make a difference. I would talk to him about it and ground him or something like that so he knows there are consequences. To me it's normal 9 year old behavior. My DS will be 9 next week and they are on the threshold of little boy/big boy and their little emotions are starting to kick in. Everyone deserves a second chance.
