Cute Thanksgiving Favor
Thanksgiving Blessing Bags Sarah and I have been doing a secret pal project, through church, this whole past year. We wanted to give them a little Thanksgiving thingie, without spending a whole lot of money, or giving them one more knickknack they don't have room for. I found this, while searching for Thanksgiving gifts. It would be easy enough to make this mixture and separate it into two containers to give to them for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Blessing Mix Bugles: Shaped like a cornucopia or Horn of Plenty, a symbol of our nation's abundance. Pretzels: Arms folded in prayer, a freedom sought by those who founded our country. Candy corn: The sacrifices of the Pilgrims' first winter. Food was so scarce that settlers survived on just a few kernels of corn a day. Nuts or seeds: Promise of a future harvest, one we will reap only if seeds are planted and tended with diligence. Dried fruits: Harvest gifts from our bountiful land. M&Ms: Memories of those who came before us to lead us into a blessed future. Hershey's Kiss: The love of family and friends that sweetens our lives.
Dawn, that is such a nice idea, I am going to do it for the kids teachers and family members. Thanks
These are very cute, but please be aware of any food allergies when giving them out. These would be a no-no in our house due to nut allergies. If I made them I would use seeds instead of nuts, Kissables instead of M&Ms and be sure to use regular Hershey Kisses.
These are cute. I'm sure Kathy is aware of family allergies, and the teachers are old enough to know not to chow down on nuts if they are allergic, so I think they are fine to hand out... Thanks Dawn, for sharing!
You're welcome! We don't need to worry about these allergies, for the people we are sending them to!
