Bed rest for co-worker
My co-worker is pregnant with twins, and she told us this morning that today is her last day at work, since her OB ordered bed rest, beginning tomorrow (they want her to wait another month before the kidlets arrive). She's pretty upset, and isn't sure how she's going to do this, since she also has a 2 yr old ds. I've never been through this. Anyone here have this sort of experience? I'm planning to introduce her to the board, since you ladies are THE BEST when it comes to support and advice! TIA
Who takes care of her 2 yr old when she is at work? Whoever that is needs to continue until she has the babies if possible. Then she will be able to do bedrest all day and when DH gets home from work at night he can take care of 2 yr old after. If she was ordered bed rest she needs to follow that order as much as possible. Good luck to her.
Her MIL takes care of him, and she's already decided to leave him in that routine. It's best for him, too.
Will keep her in my prayers. I have never been through that, either!
I had pre-eclampsia with both of my pregnancies and was on bed rest - nearly 3 months with Jeff!! I was also on meds to prevent me from going into labor and meds to counteract the side effects from those (raised heart rate). I can tell you, it's a miserable experience. I read a LOT of books, watched a lot of bad TV, talked on the phone a lot........this was before computers and DVDs so, maybe it won't be as bad for her.
Karen, we need some positive ideas! LOL
Sorry. Dem's da facts! LOL If she has a laptop, she can use that while in bed. As I said, reading, DVD's, if she does anything like cross-stitch, etc.......
Well, we said good-bye to her and there were some tears. We'll sure miss her!
