Home Made Christmas ornaments for gifts
I was readying on some different posts that people make ornaments as gifts for family and saw a few ideas using lightbulbs. How do you make them or any other ornaments looking for something different this year for gifts. And for those of you who need to stay ANON I understand just click it here too please.
Tonya, these were the ones the kids and I made last year and they came out really cute! snowman ornaments
We made a bunch of these last year. They were a huge hit. Very pretty. You can do them with white or colored lights, and any kind of ribbon you would like. We did a lot of "elegant" looking ones, and then a few that had a more "fun" look to them. You use the frosted glass blocks that is often used in bathroom windows...stuff it with twinkle lights in either clear or color. Tie with ribbon. We didn't put the Christmas cards in them. Didn't really like the look. Just left them clear. The pics in this link show the blocks standing upright. We laid them flat instead. http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/cr_occasions_december/article/0,1789,HGTV_3270_3313693,00.html
Here's another link: http://www.treasuresfromdj.net/glass-lights.html If I knew where mine was, I would grab a pic of it. But I have no idea which Christmas box it's in.
Brean, I just LOVE those! Can't wait to make them this year! And that last website you listed is a terrific craft site! Can't wait to make a few of those crafts! Thanks so much!
Those are so cool!
I love those!!! I think I found some gift ideas!!!!
Frosted Blocks with Lights More Glass Lights
Those are so cute! I wonder if you could use a black and white photo of the kids? And I wonder if you could use a nightlight insert instead of the Christmas lights?
Yes, you can use a nightlight insert. I saw on some of the directions that you can use either. And you can also use any kind of picture but it's best to laminate the top of flat pics. But I'm not sure how much light would be able to shine through...
