Military Wives
My DH's very close friend just arrived in Iraq and will be there until March. He has a wife and two small children. We'd like to send a care package to him and also one to his family. Do any of you have advice on what he would need over there? We live across the country from his wife and kids, but would like to give them some support. What have you found helpful?
I know that CVS has donated a lot of things for the troops. The things they give are: (lots of) baby wipes, sunscreen, insect repellent, razors, shaving cream, playing cards, paperback books, phone cards, chewing gum, socks, writing paper and pens, pocket tissues, etc. I know that there are other items, too, I just cannot think of them right now. God bless you for wanting to remember him and his family.
You are so sweet...and to send one to the wife and children...aawww... For the guy -Aafes also has gift certificates you can order online. My hubby loves those. -A lot of them drink protein shakes. You can buy protein powder at GNC and send it. They mix it with water. - Gold Bond for their feet. - Cheap flip flops for their feet since they share showers. - Guy movies - Computer video games - Recorded football games on DVD - Chocolate flavored peanut butter - Candy or stuffed animals to hand out to the kids. - Under Armor underwear (boxer briefs are the best) - Travel size Axe stuff - Pringles For the wife and kids: - Gift certificate to go out to eat. - Money for a babysitter - Activities/Games for the kids
Thank you so much for the advice!
Sure! Another thing for the mother would be the "Simple Magazine". I just love that magazine. It gives such great advice. I also get a massage once a month, so if you guys can swing a half hour one, she would be grateful I'm sure!!
