Sarah enjoyed a concert
Sarah has a new music love, Cheyenne Kimball, and she gave a concert in Madison, WI today. I was nice enough to take Sarah to Madison (2 hours away) to see this concert. The bad thing is, that the Wisconsin Badgers played today, at the UW, where the concert was being given. The concert was in one of the student unions, which is kitty corner across the street from the entrance to Camp Randall Stadium. It took us a slight bit, to find the building, but then we circled for 1-1/2 hours, to find a place to park. There was just NOTHING, since Camp Randall seats about 80,000 people! We ended up about a mile or so, if not further, from the union, because when I found a place to park, I just parked there. So, we had a long walk, in the dark, back to the car. Oh well. College towns are sure wild! I went to school in Milwaukee, which doesn't have quite as big a concentration of students, in one place, like Madison does. We did have a nice supper, at Panera Bread, before the concert. Then the concert. After the concert, she got a picture, with the artist and an autograph. We stopped for a quick snack at McDonald's and then the 2-hour trip home. It's always an adventure trying to leave Madison. It's soooooo big. I'm so happy we are home in one piece and I'm glad to be back in humble Sheboygan.
Wow! A mile away! That is crazy. I'm glad the concert was enjoyable. I'm with you. It's always fun to go into the big city and see the sights, but I always like coming home to our humble little town.
It was awfully nice of you to take her to the concert, Dawn. What a nice mom you are! Wow you drove around for an hour and 1/2 to find a parking spot? And then had to park a mile away? That's nuts! I'm glad you had fun though.
What a great mom you are Dawn! Your girls are very lucky to have you.
*Smile*...I was thinking "oh yeah, that sounds about right" w/ the driving around and walking. Then I read the other replies about how awesome that was of you (not that it wasn't), and I had to smile. I can't imagine living in a place that doesn't have that stuff happen on a regular basis. What does this person sing? I am not up on this stuff.
One of the newer MTV reality stars - she's a high school age, up & coming *pop* singer...
It was just nuts, around the campus yesterday! I have never been in Madison, on a game day, let alone, so close to the main activity of it! We just had to wait until some people got to their cars, to go home. For parades and the fireworks, here, you might have to park that far away, but not usually for ordinary things. Here's a link to some of the pictures she took. Concert Pics
