Was anyone else approached...
Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2006:
Was anyone else approached...
by a columnist for the NYTimes about their views on our discussion of "Haves or Have Nots" on the debate board? Everything looks legitimate. I checked her name on the NYTimes site, all the links in the email go back to nytimes.com but I'm always leery of replying to anything when I'm approached via email by someone I don't know.
Cori, if you remove your email address from your profile, it will prevent anyone - legit or not - from contacting you. To my knowledge, no one else has been contacted.
I had this happen before (another topic). It creeped me out and I removed my email info.
I was not. Yes, do remove your email address from your profile if you don't want to be contacted like this. Answer her or not, as you wish. Just remind her, if you contact her, that everything on Momsview is copyrighted, and she cannot quote without permission.
I too have removed my email address, so no, I wasn't contacted either. But the NY Times is interested in little ol' momsview? How interesting....
I didn't think Tink had her e-mail on her profile... Is there another way to get it?
I don't have my email address available for public viewing. I haven't had it up for awhile...since Heidi and I were both emailed by some creep. I do know that there are some archived posts somewhere where I gave it out so she may have found it from a search. I plan to find out a little more about what angle she's after and I'll decide from there. Thanks for the input.
I never even gave that a thought that news media people would search message boards for topic material. Interesting. I didn't know that everything on Momsview is copyrighted. Does that mean that we cannot send a friend a quote or poem or something else of interest that appears on MV?
I'm sure the NY Times is interested, because the newspaper was specifically mentioned in at least one of the posts, regarding its discrediting of Bush's Administration. All they had to do was a quick search of NY Times and there it is.
