I'm Always Hungry Lately....!!!!
Has anyone else noticed an increase in their appetite since the weather turned cooler? All summer, in the heat, I was never hungry. All I wanted was fruit and iced tea. I even lost my usual eight pounds that I lose every summer. However, now that the nights are cooler, and the humidity is way down, I am hungry all day long. And, I'm starting to crave the "comfort" foods that I didn't want all summer like mac and cheese and noodle cassarole. I wonder if there is something built into us, that as the days get shorter, we start storing up food for "hibernation" or something. LOL! I even notice my animals more anxious to eat, and cleaning up all their food. Does anybody else experience this?
And, no, I'm NOT pregnant. LOL! At my age, I'd be in the National Enquirer.
The weather turned cooler? I must have missed that here in the deep south--LOL
LOL Pam, thinking the same thing. :-) The best we got was highs below 90, & humidity below 70%.
Me!! That chill in the air makes me crave comfort foods. I love this time of year
oh yes! We made Jambalaya the other day. Something we would NOT eat during the summer time. We also saw someone we know at the grocery store. She was buying stuff to make Chili! Definitely craving the comfort foods!
Oh yes we are using the stove again and the crock pot. I love this time of year. Sitting in the livingroom at night with the window open in my PJ's watching TV with a blanket over my legs. It is great. The smell of fall is the best to me even over spring. And yes I want to eat way more now than in the summer. Chili sounds really good.
Pam and Karen - Very funny!! Obviously, I didn't mean you guys, living in the "tropics" the way do. LOL! Actually, we had a taste of your weather this summer, and I could never live with that heat and humidity all the time. God bless those of you who do. Of course, you also don't need to chisel the ice off your windshield just to go to work, or hit your brakes and skid to a stop on exit ramps. So, it is a trade off.
When I first read the title, I thought, "She must be pregnant!" LOL I have had a bit of an increase in my appetite, but not that much. I have actually been more tired than anything. And my allergies are driving me nuts.
Lisa - I'd LOVE to be pregnant! I loved it when I was. However, at nearly 58 y/o, I'd fall asleep before the baby!! LOL!!
I like winter comfort foods, too. However, we got up to 86 today, so I'm not exactly hungry for chili today! The other day, we got up to 83. Ugh. It always seems to warm up, after school starts. I want REAL fall weather.
