Has anyone ever been there? Where is it?

I've been to Mexico City and Cuernavaca, and Taxco. I don't think I went ot Ensenada.

Never been to Ensenada, but I preferred Progreso to Cozumel, because it was more "real" Mexico, not the touristy crap. One thing to be sure to do before going is checking the exchange rate. If you shop or eat at a place where they only have pesos for change, they often screw you if you don't know the rate. We actually told a couple of people we saw from our cruise ship shopping what the rate was, because they were getting ripped off. (It's currently about 11 pesos to a dollar.)

I have been to Ensanada on a cruise out of LA. If I am remembering correctly it really is not that far south of the US/Mexico border. Ensenada has been my least favorite port of call. We did not sign up for any shore excursion but rather got a cab to take us to the nearest beach. We were there in February and the beach was nearly deserted and very rocky. The bar Pappas and Beer is in Ensenada.
