Most Liked, Least Favorite?
What are your most liked and least favorite jobs around the house? I LOVE to iron! After the kids go to bed, I pull out the ironing board and iron all of our clothes for the next day while I watch my primetime TV shows and I love seeing the stack of neatly folded or hung-up clothing when I'm done. I HATE to clean floors of any kind. Hate to vacuum, hate to sweep, hate to mop, hate to scrub. Sooo, those are some of the first jobs I teach my dks so they can take them over!
I love to wash cloths and vaccuum. I love to clean my room. I hate to do dishes and fold laundry. I also hate to do tubs and floors.
I Love to vacuum! I even bought a swiffer vac so i can vacuum my kitchen instead of sweep it with a broom. I HATE to clean the bathrooms, cleaning the shower and toilets are the worst! Tink, you just reminded me that i have to iron dh's shirts, thank you!! I keep forgetting to do that.
I have often told my DH that I was meant to be a Princess, because I hate to do housework...LOL Honestly, my worst job is the cat box..HATE IT!!
I hate hate HATE doing laundry (we always seem to have a ton). I do not like to iron and since hubby's promotion I have had to. I love organizing anything in the house.
Yvonne if you come organize my house for me I will do all of your laundry forever!!!! I will even fold yours!!
LOVE: Organizing HATE: Folding laundry (I get it all washed but I think there should be a machine that folds too! LOL!) Laundry used to be my favorite chore, until I had a 3 level house and my mom's laundry to wash too!
I don't like laundry, bathrooms. I like vacuuming the best.
I hate the Cat box too.... doing laundry is okay as long as I don't have to put it up. I don't even mind folding it. I totally agree with Truestori... I was meant to be a princess or at least extremely wealthy so I don't have to do any housework.
I hate, hate, hate to DUST!!!!
What is dusting?
I hate cleaning the house. Period. Hate, hate, hate. I, too, should of been a princess. My DH knows to avoid me when we clean the house, it never goes on without me being grumpy. Like - Organizing
Love vacuuming, hate ironing Dust, that is just a protective layer! LOL
I hate folding clothes and mopping. I love to organize and clean out clutter (drawers, closets, toys, etc.). I also love to cook - but not every night!
Hate: Cleaning bathrooms Love: ORGANIZING!!!
Like cleaning the bathrooms, it's easy to finish and SEE results. Hate mopping the floors, it's just a pain in the butt. To top it off, I can only find my mop heads at the PX, and they were out today, I desparately need one!
HATE dishes Love changing bed sheets. There's nothing like crisp fresh bed linens.
Ditto Crystal. I enjoy cleaning bathrooms because there are the biggest results there. I hate to dust because it is futile and I hate to iron because it is hot and boring.
Maybe I'm weird, but sometimes I do like cleaning the bathroom, because I like how it looks when it's done and since it's a small room, it doesn't take that long. I like changing the sheets on my bed, because I LOVE sleeping in clean sheets. I hate cleaning my room, because I let it go too long and then it's a big job! Also, when we moved in 10 years ago, we threw all this stuff on the shelf in the closet. There it has sat, since then. We have hardly touched any of it! We NEED to go through it and pitch what we obviously don't need too much! It seems like something that would take up a whole Saturday, though.
We iron very little here. I don't like changing sheets, but ditto Sandysmom...I LOOOOVE clean sheet day!!
Well, I don't like any of it, really. But if I had to choose, it would be either dusting or cleaning the fridge. I HATE cleaning the cat box and picking up the doggy doo. But, they are necessary evils when you have that cuddly loving pet.
I HATE doing dishes. I hate even loading the dishwasher, or emptying it. It just seems endless. I also hate vacuuming. I enjoy doing laundry. I even like hanging it outside because I love the smell of the clothes when you bring them in. I enjoy folding. To me, it is relaxing while I watch TV. I don't do that much ironing anymore. Just dress-up clothes. (My Mom used to iron sheets and underwear. LOL!) I don't mind cleaning the bathroom or mopping floors. I like to see the results. I, too, love fresh clean sheets on the bed, so I don't mind making up the beds. I enjoy cooking when I am in the mood, but everyone here is on a different schedule so we do a lot of cassaroles or take out. I'm not crazy about the cat boxes, but I know it has to be done. It's the boys' chores to pick up dog poops and take out the trash. I don't mind cleaning, if I could just clean. However, since the three men in this house seem to subscribe to the "stop and drop" philosophy, I have to get everyone to come round up their stuff and put it away before I can clean. It gets me very aggravated.
I love to cook! I just wish my DH had a little more "culinary diversity". I also love to mow and do yard work.
I like 100% cotton scrub tops! For them to look decent, I need to iron! When I wash my seasonal tops, the last time, I iron them before I put them away, in the cedar closet. Then, when it's time to wear them again, they are good to go! One of my co-workers mentioned the other day, that she was ironing one of her fall tops, because she had just put it away, without ironing it! That would hang over my head, the whole year, that I had to iron those tops in the closet! LOL!
Ditto, Hol! I have the same problem with my son and my hubby's "stop and drop" habits.
I hate it ALL!!!! However, I love a neat, clean and tidy house so I suck it up and just do it. By the time I go to bed each night my house is clean and tidy and we are ready to start the next day fresh. I do the laundry, wash, dry and fold but I will not put DH's laundry away. I stack it neatly on his side of the bed so he has to put it away before he goes to bed at night.
I don't put DH's laundry away either Heaven!! NO WAY. He doesn't put mine away either, so it goes both ways. It stays in the clothes basket until he gets it out.
Deanna, I tried leaving it in the basket but he never takes it out!!! Then to add insult to injury he throws his dirty clothes on top of the clean ones!!!! That's why I put it on the bed, if he wants to sleep in bed with me he has to put his clothes away.
I put dh's clothes away, but not ds's. I figure as long as dh works hard and I can stay home, I can put away his clean clothes so that they are there when he needs them. But for my ds, he needs to learn to do some of these things for himself. I fold them and put them on his dresser. But right now his room is such a mess that he doesn't notice the clean clothes, they just kind of blend in with everything else. He decided that he doesn't want to use his closet anymore except for storing toys, so he made room in his dresser for all his shirts and jeans. I don't mind, as long as they get put away.
I don't mind doing laundry at all, but I HATE putting it away. I also HATE emptying the dishwasher. Also hate dusting and cooking. Love clean bed linens, and wouldn't even mind changing them but the mattress is so darn heavy, I have trouble.
I hate cleaning the kitchen I love cooking yeah i know i make the mess hahah with that said we have adeal in the house if u cook u dont have to have clean lucky me!
I'm with Heaventree - I hate it all. But, I do like doing some major task, like washing the bathroom walls, cleaning woodwork, stripping and re-waxing a floor, cleaning all the windows, because when I'm done it is done for quite a while and I can look at the results and admire them for quite some time. It's the pick up and put away stuff that drives me crazy, though I have gotten better about organizing my storage spaces so that it is easier & faster to get things out or put them away. Flat surfaces - any flat surface - is my downfall because they are catchalls. I don't mind dusting, for example, but I hate having to clear off and put away everything I've put on the surface "temporarily" before I can get down to the dusting.
