Amazing Race and Survivor fun family pool help
Every season my family (18 of us) do a family pool for Amazing Race and one for Survivor. Does anyone do this and what are your sets of rules. I don't normally look after setting these pools up but this time it was passed on to me. I would like to do something a little different yet fair and not too complicated. This season's Amazing Race will have 12 teams - usually we end up pairing up in our family pool and then the first pair in the family gets to choose another AR team, the same goes for the second pair in the family, then the third pair gets the leftover team. We charge $1 each family member, then at the end of the season the final family pair gets to split the winnings (a whole $18). For Survivor we charge $2 per person and each family member gets to have a pick. The same as AR, the first family member who has the first person voted out of survivor or not picked for any team gets to choose out of the last 2, then the next family member who's person is voted out gets the last survivor from the leftovers. Again, at the end of the season, the winner receives the $36 winnings. Does anyone have any other suggestions to doing this or adding something different? Note: family members are a different distances and there are children playing also - if this matters. TIA
We used to do a Survivor pool with the staff at my school. It was great! It was $5 to get in, all the Survivor contestants pictures were mixed up in a hat and you drew one out. Then they made a chart with your contestant's picture and your name under it. Every week, if your person got voted off, you had to bring a treat for the staff the following week and you were out of winning the $ at the end. It was really fun. One year, the pool was $90, one was $80, one was $75. Not everyone participated of course, just choice. Maybe you could send out a weekly email? If your person gets kicked off, you have to do some chore around the house or something. Just an idea. We've never done a family thing. Have fun!
