My boys made it through the 1st day of school
I have to admit, I cried after I dropped them off. I'm sure them being at a new school was part of it. Also, since K was just 1/2 day, it seems harder this year. I can't believe that both of my boys are in school full time. It just makes me so sad. They actually both had great days, and made new friends. I think I am more depressed about school starting. Oh well, I am just sad that summer is over.
I was sad this year too...summer was too short (although part of me was ready!). Your summer has been crazy, to finally have a little down time, doesn't suprise me that you have a sad day! Glad they made friends and it went well.
I completely understand Debbie = ( I'm glad to hear they are doing well though = )
Awww... I'd cry, too. I was beside myself when my son was in camp for two full days a week - and I had my little one at home for company. Don't know what I'll do when he starts K in September. Glad they are happy at least. I'm noticing a lot of schools start before September ... is it a regional thing? Ame
I'm ready for school to start. My kids are driving each other crazy! I think it's too much togetherness!
I'm not sure how they decide when school starts i think they all used to start after labor day but now with air conditioners and such they start before then?
Michigan passed a new law that schools cannot start before Labor Day. We start 2 weeks from today.
{{{{{Debbie}}}}} And hugs to everyone else missing their kiddos, too. I like having my boys home (as much as they drive me nuts! lol). I do enjoy a break every now and then, but not 7+ hours a day, five days a week! I think about 3 hours a day or maybe only 2-3 days a week would be good. Preschool schedule! I know a lot of people would think I'm nuts, but I miss having my kids at home with me. Before long they'll be headed to college and I want to enjoy them while they're here.
Us too, Tonya! They passed that law several years ago, in WI!
Texas just passed a law that school cannot start before the 3rd or 4th monday in august (i don't recall which one). Another thing is the start date varies state to state. In texas you must be 5 by sept 1, but ohio it was oct 1, but other places it is dec.
