Just Found the Most Wonderful Shampoo!!!
Last night, I bought Pantene Restoritives shampoo and conditioner. My hair is shoulder length, and has been permed and highlighted. It tended to be a little dry after the hot summer sun exposure, and I was getting some breakage. I used the shampoo and conditioner in the shower today and my hair is so soft and in better condition. It is a lot less snarly, and combed through really easy when wet. It comes in a tube instead of a bottle, and is with all of the other Pantene products.
Thanks for the info. I react to so many hair products, but I can use the Pantene gel and the spray for curly hair. I might give that shampoo a try.
I've not used this particular type, but I LOVE Pantene, and that is the shampoo and conditioner that I always use. I also love their hairspray. I just love the smell! Mmmmmmm!
Hol, is your hair fine or thick? I have very fine hair that has no color or perm on it, and it seems to get dry on the ends but is normal to oily at the roots. If I don't wash it every day, then my roots look greasy. But, washing it every day causes more dryness on my ends. It's very frustrating.
My hair is fine, but I have a lot of it. It is also bone-straight if I don't perm it. My DH has these beautiful waves, but both of my birth kids got my hair. My hair used to get oily everyday, too, until I went through menopause. Then, trust me, EVERYTHING dries up! LOL! I only wash it twice a week now. When the hot weather is over, I am going to get my dry ends trimmed, but right now, I want to be able to wear it up. I am a retired hairdresser. I would recommend that you do a deep conditioning on just your ends. After washing and squeezing out the excess water, apply a good, rich conditioner on just the ends. There are several good ones in the drugstores. Then, pile it into a plastic shower cap, and finish your shower. The heat from your head, and the steam from the shower will cause the conditioner to penetrate and soften. Then, just rinse really well. You could try the Restoratives. Just condition the ends only.
Hol, I bought this last night and used it. I love it, it smells great and my hair is super soft. My hair is like yours fine but I have a ton of hair. And my hair is falling out in clumps since I had the baby. I wonder why? My hair did the same thing after my first baby. There is hair everywhere it is driving me crazy.
Brooke, I've heard that it has something to do with hormones.
Yes, it IS hormones. (They are powerful substances ). As you have already experienced, it will eventually level off, and you will get a lot of new growth. I went through the same thing after the birth of my DS, however, it didn't START falling out until he stopped breastfeeding when he was nine months old. THEN, it was everywhere! My pillow, the shower, the sink, my shoulders. Kojak, the bald detective show was on TV at the time, and I remember telling my Mom that if the falling didn't stop, I'd look like him. LOL! My grandaughter is 19 months old, and she's been weaned from the breast for seven months. My DS also had a lot of shedding, too, afterward, but it stopped. I'm glad you liked the shampoo. I was impressed, too. Maybe we should do a commercial!! LOL! Seriously, if you call the 800# on the tube and tell them how much you like it, I think they will send you some coupons.
