Can I throw a Cabbage Patch in the washing machine? TIA:)

I don't know about the new ones but the old ones you used to be able to put in a pillow case and tie up the end and pop them in the wash and then we would hang them by thier hair to dry. I'm guessing the pillow case was to keep the hair from getting tangled in the spinner.

You have to watch it though.. sometimes the head fills up with water and it really takes a long time to dry if this happens. But I used to throw DDs in the wash , but make sure that you put them in a pillow case (likes stated above) if they have hair.

I've machine-washed our's in a pillowcase also but I hang them upside-down, by their feet, so that their heads drain faster. :) My gosh, that sounds terrible!

You think that sounds bad...one time when dd was very small, she had a baby that went in the tub with her. After her bath, I was drying off the tub toys and heard some water inside the baby. Not wanting it to get moldy, and without even thinking, I took the babys head off to drain out the water. My god, dd started screaming and crying and I felt like the worst person in the world. I didn't even give it a thought before I did it!!!! THAT is terrible!! LOL

ROFL Vicki!

This is good to know...I've never tried washing CPK before!

ROFL Vicki!!! That's hysterical!!

It's an old one (MY old one!) and it just needs a washing and a new outfit. It was a preemie and just has a small tuft of hair on top.

Thanks for the washing tips everyone!:)

to those who washed the old ones with hair, did they come out fine? Is the hair all gross looking now? I know that has happend with one of my friend's dd's dolls. But that was the silky hair, not yarn.
My dd has 2 of my old CPK's and they seriously need to be washed!

My kids really PLAYED with their beanie babies and they would get so dirty. I would throw them in a pillow case and wash them and they always washed up really nice! The only bad thing is that it wrecked the little tags, but trust me, these toys were DIRTY! We also had some fisher-price soft toys, and I used to wash them, too! They would always look so nice, after being washed.

I don't recall ever having one with the silky hair. Sorry I can't be of much help with that one. My thing is, if its dirty and it can't be washed, the kids don't need to play with it anymore and its trash. So I try to wash everything and if it gets ruined I was going to toss it in the garbage anyways, if it comes clean and they can still play with it thats a bonus.
