Why can't life just be boring for a change
Urg...not only am I having to deal with moving, and trying to get settled before school starts. But, the transmission went out on my van! It is a 98 Sienna with 100,000 miles, so we have been talking about getting a new one. We have had some problems with it lately...starter had to be fixed and brakes went out. But, why now? It just couldn't wait a few more weeks. We don't want to spend $2,500.00 to fix it, so now we are also trying to buy a new van before we move next week. Between that, and my ds waking up with a stomach bug....urg. Of course, we just put the house on the market, and we have 2 showings this afternoon. I am trying to keep ds from barfing on the carpet! So, poor thing is carrying a bucket around with him everywhere he goes. Oh, I want to go back on vacation. On the bright side, we did have a great time at Huntington Beach and Disneyland. The weather was awesome!! Gosh, I would love to live there. (LOL, should I say that, with all the moving we have been doing)And, my brother's wedding was beautiful.
My ex often repeated " There is an old Chinese curse - may you live in interesting times. " At my age, I agree, I could stand more boredom and few "interesting" times.
You know my motto--"It's always an adventure!" lol Hugs, Debbie.
I'm sorry to hear about your van. Do you have a carmax near you? We had to get a new van this weekd and we got a beautiful 02 Ford Winstar with 10.5 in dvd/tv with less than 30,000 miles with a 60 month/60,000 mile car car warranty (we are only out of pocket $75 for any repairs) for a little over $15,000. I highly recommend checking them out if you are near one.
Kristi, I checked and we don't have a Carmax by us. We got Dh's truck there a few years ago, and got a great no hassle deal. We have actually been looking at the Honda Odyssey. We have money that we can put down, so our payment will be low. We just wanted to shop around and get the best deal. However, now we are kind of pressed for time. We just didn't want the hassle right now. And, I am sad to have a car payment. I really liked not having one for the last couple of years. Oh well, we don't have private school payments now, so we will just trade it for a car payment.
DH always says, "Everyday is an adventure!"
I'm sorry you don't have a carmax. I loved how easy their process was. Do they have one where you are going? I have heard good things about the Odyssey. I had actually set out to buy that first but found this one and fell in love with it. I kwym about the payments. It was nice to not have a second vehicle payment but oh well, life happens I guess. Good luck with your new purchase and your move.
((((Big HUGS!!!)))) I think the Odyssey's are pretty! And if it makes you feel any better, you are not alone. LOL My stress level is pretty high right now. We were about 3 weeks away from putting 2 cars up for sale. And dh had a little accident in my truck last Sunday evening. Just did a little over $8500 worth of damage that's all... They'll have it looking just like new in no time. ugh We have too travel and the securtiy level just got raised. I could go on- but I won't bore you. HA Life is certainly an adventure.
lol thats a nice way to put it Ginny ...interesting times... lol ... my life with my hubby is always interesting never a boring day or moment if so its double whammy the next day. I mean our life is crazy if it can happen it will... like in one week my daughter killed three cars ...all was fixed with a ten dallar part or less ... but who else ... and if u own a camper and leave it on the camp site ... and then before u get home they call u and tell u have to come move it cuz theres a gas leak under ur trailer ...cuz the fire department is there on the grounds ... i mean i have a set of books i can right about things like this ..so my phylosophy is go with the flow ... if it werent for intereisting life times then life would be really boring and wouldnt know how to act.
