"Sure is hot out there!" AAGH!!!!
I think I may lose it. After days and days of customer after customer coming up to my window, exhaling loudly ("WHEEEW!") and exclaiming, "Sure is hot out there," I'm sick to death of weather comments! So today, I figured after a front came through with rain, cooling everything off, my customers would be less weather oriented. But no, today all I've heard is, "That rain sure was nice, but it's supposed to get hot again." ACK! I know that for each customer, this is a brand new conversation. But how many responses can I come up with before I lose my mind? (Thanks for listening to my rant--I feel so much better now)
Just smile and say *yes, it is*. I don't blame you for feeling that way though, I think it would get on my nerves too.
Oh, I do...
oh, that would get on my nerves too. Just remember that they are trying to be friendly and be glad they aren't all cranky because of the heat (although i bet you've got some of those too).
That's funny..usually when I've gone into a store the sales person is always saying "Is is still hot out there?" or "Is it cooling off any?" So, I guess it can go both ways.;)
I used to be in your position, working in retail, so sometimes when I go into a store, and the cashier asks me how I am doing, I say, "Oh, I'm having a bad hair day, how about you?"
texas is the worst in the world to live i can't stand this 113 heat
Lisa, that's funny! I'll have to remember that one
The phrase we hear around here is, "hot enough for you?!" LOL! After a while, it's not very original, anymore!
Annie- the lady who cuts my hair didn't laugh- apparently she's heard all those jokes before!
