I got the cutest little sport bag!
I was using DH's ugly duffel bag (you don't want to know how ugly it is) and now I have one that will (hopefully) not go out of style. It's a bit much to spend but I love it and I hope it lasts a while. We are going to use it for swim lessons and trips to the gym pool. My diaper bag just couldn't fit all the towels, sippy cups, etc. Duffel Bag (Going Anon bc the price is shown.)
That's not a bad price! If you like it, and it serves you well, then it's worth it. It's not our place to judge what anybody spends.
PS: I LOVE ebags! I am a purse "junkie", and I buy quite a few from them.
That's a great price! I spend a lot more on purses dear!
My goodness, don't be embarrassed about the price. Spend your money how you please. It's no one else's business. I use an extra large LL Bean tote for going to the pool, etc.. It's the same one I used when I was teaching.
Cute bag! Enjoy! I have certainly spent more than that on a little purse (barely big enough to hold my lipstick lol).
Ok, I don't feel so guilty now...tee hee...I was just so proud that I spent money on myself!!
Gee! I spent that much on just one purse! It's not even very functional, but I liked it! You have no reason to feel guilty I just spent around 1100 on a new computer including taxes on ME!
That looks like a nice bag! Someone last year, got me hooked on Vera Bradley purses. I think they are expensive, and bought a fabric purse with a no-name brand. The thing is, every time I see a Vera Bradley purse, I KNOW it's a Vera Bradley purse and I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and buy myself one! LOL! Vera Bradley purses
Dawn- I have a set of Veras given to me by a friend as gifts. At the time, I wasn't that into them, but now I really like them! I've even considered getting a purse (my others are actual *bags*), but they seem soooooo expensive to me when they're not even leather, you know? They have a HUGE Vera Bradley sale every year in Fort Wayne, IN (northern IN, you might want to drive there being in WI). The friend that bought me my 3 bags goes there every year because she's a Vera freak. The deals are OUTRAGEOUS! $120 bags for $30 or less. She stocks up for gifts, her daughters, and herself every year. I always know I'm going to get something Vera from her on my birthday and I love it! I've never been but now I'd like to go. It's in April I think. The first day is like 50%, the second day 75%, and something else I think. I also have a weakness for the Sak.
Dawn - That would be me that got you started on quilted bags, because I remember you sending us a picture of the one that you bought. I liked it so much, I bought the same one! My DD is a Vera freak, too. She spends SO-O-O much on them. She has purses, duffel bags, make-up bags, diaper bags, checkbook covers, you name it. I really like the "Java Blue" pattern. She has the whole set! The knock offs aren't bad. Maybe the fabric quality isn't as nice, but you get what you pay for. I have a pretty yellow quilted bag that I just got, brand new, at a consignment shop for $8.00. It is a pretty summer bag, and holds a lot. Our local grocery store also runs a line of knock offs every now and then. A different piece of the set is featured every week. Last year, I got some pretty blue quilted tote bags for everyone (myDD, sister, friends). They hold a lot. They are navy blue with pink ribbons in the print. Part of the money supposedly goes for breast cancer research. You can get Veras on ebay, some brand new. The bidding can get pretty intense, tho, so you have to watch it. If I am going to pay too much, I'll go buy it in a retail store. The Vera Bradley company will stand behind their product. If there is a defect, they will make it right. If DD and I lived within a 300 mile radius of Indiana, you can bet we'd be at that sale! LOL!
LOL Hol! (your last line)
Deanna - My DH went to a military school at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis in 1991. He was there for three months. I flew out midway in the course and spent a long weekend with him. The people were SO-O-O nice! However, I was there the first weekend in November (over my birthday), and it was SO cold!! We wanted to walk around and see some sights, but after five minutes, we felt like our ears would break off. We did see the Hoosier Dome, Union Station Mall, and the American Legion headquarters. The Colts were doing so lousy that year, that we found a sports shop where everything "Colts" was 30% off until they won. We were able to bring back some souveniers. Where are you, in relation to Indianapolis? Isn't the Vera Bradley HQ in Fort Wayne?
Hol - Yes, it's in Fort Wayne. We live in Kokomo, about an hour north of Indy. Fort Wayne is about an hour and a half north of us. That's funny that you thought it was cold in November. January and February around here is FREEZING!! LOL Funny to hear about the "Hoosier Dome"... it's the RCA Dome now. There's also a baseball field there now that may not have been there in '91, and there's a BEUATIFUL long canal that has been made running through one side of Indy. There are beautiful properties and hotels along it, as well as paddle boats, bridges, and a lovely place to walk. It's really a pleasant place in downtown Indy. Union Station isn't there either now, but I couldn't tell what's there in it's place.
Cute bag! And I agree don't worry about us saying anything about the price! Now, if your hiding from dh, that is another thing! ;-) I am almost always of the opinion that you get what you pay for and if you want a nice bag that lasts more than a few trips to the pool, you need to pay a little more for it!! There, I just justified it for you!! LOL Enjoy your new bag!!
Deanna - WOW! I can't wait to tell DH! How things change in 15 years! I have a coffee mug from Union Station. I'll have to put it away so the boys don't break it. It's a collector's item now. I didn't know about the Hoosier Dome either. I guess it was just freaky weather that November, because your climate is basically like ours. January and February are the coldest months here, too. I think DH told me that Fort Ben Harrison closed, too, and put a lot of people out of work. They had just built a multi-million dollar commissary, and the payroll center for the whole US Army had been headquartered at Fort BH. He enjoyed his time there, not the school or the time on base, but his off time. He got to know his way around pretty well. He went to a church there where the people were SO nice to him. When they found out he was away from home, members had him over for dinner and everything.
