"New and Improved..." ACK!
It's happened again...they took a perfectly good product, made it "new and improved," and ruined it! Being ultra-sensitive to scents, I'm always looking for skin care and hair care products that are unscented. It's not as easy as you might think to find them! Anyway, my favorite lotion (that I've used for years and years) is Jergens soothing aloe lotion... I went to get some last week and the shelf was empty at Wal-Mart. I went to Target. Empty. I went to another Wal-Mart. Gone. Then I saw the "new and improved" bottles of Jergens. OK, I opened one to smell it...ACK! What did they do to it?!! So I've been searching at Big Lots, K-Mart, Walgreens... IT'S ALL GONE!! It's as if some alien abduction has taken all of the Jergens Soothing Aloe away in one fell swoop. Over the past week I've tried at least three other brands, but the lotion just isn't "right" or the scent bothers me. I'm very depressed. Why can't they just leave well enough alone?
Janet, I hate that too! That's why lot of companies making vintage products the way they did a long time ago are raking in the bucks.
I'm sorry, Janet. I know the feeling.
I know just what you mean. Usually the *new and improved* version of a product is awful.
I wish someone would do away with new and improved. I especially hate it when they do it to my underwear and bras, and my latest adventure were my jeans. Took me 3 months to find jeans that fit the way the "classic" ones fit. When I inquired at the store about why they weren't carrying them, the very young sales clerk replied, "Well ma'am maybe when they are back in style!!" Since when does classic go out of style. I know exactly how you feel. It stinks.
I so agree! It bugs me when they make things "new and improved".
I'm sitting here, wishing I could go home and take a shower to get the new lotion I used this morning off of me! It's supposed to be fragrance-free, but the "non-fragrance" is driving me nuts! It's also heavier and stickier than my old stuff. Whine, whine, whine. Woe is me...the world is going to pot and all I can do is complain about my lotion!
I SO agree! They can't leave well enough alone. I guess the competition is so strong, with so many products out there, they're all trying to get the jump on each other. I, too, am very sensitive to scents, so I use "Kiss My Face" products almost exclusively. I LOVE them. First, they use natural ingredients, are NOT tested on animals, no animal products, and they are so gentle that I buy them for my grandaughter as well. Their lotions are so pure that you can use any one of them on your face. I particularly love the Olive Oil and Aloe FRAGRANCE FREE Lotion. It is so gentle. It doesn't sting, it has absolutely no smell, and it makes your skin feel so good. I also use their Everyday Moisturizer if I am going to be in the sun because it has SPF 15. I bought some for my DD to use on the baby when they went to Myrtle Beach. You can get it at health food stores and some whole foods grocery store. I just order mine right on line at kissmyface.com. IF you like scents, they have products with them, but again , the products are very mild. I bought my grandaughter some grape body wash from their kids line. I gave her a bath Saturday night with it. She smelled SO-O-O good. Like a grape popsicle. Another "new and improved" i can't stand is when they make the product package smaller, but charge the same, hoping we're too clueless to notice. OR...when you find a lipstick or make-up shade that you like, and they discontinue it. Urgh!
Have you tried Cetaphil lotion? I love that stuff.
Man! I hear you on this one, somtimes I think we need a vent message site! I have bought the SAME haircolor for 3 years.I used it last night, the NEW one, and I now have dark brown hair. I always have med blond.I get so tired of them changing things like that.My facial cleanser did the same thing about 3 months ago.Don't these peope have anything better to do? OK I done.
Oh, I hate when they do that! Several of my favorite shampoos have been discontinued. The kids and I are sensitive to perfumes, etc.. We use Cetaphil and Eucerin.
