Scary morning
I had to bring my oldest to school this morning. On the way there I noticed a 20ish girl walking down the road with a older (40ish) man walking practically right on her heels. She turned around and said "leave me alone" with a really mad look on her face - I am pretty sure that's what she said, I was in the car and that's what it looked like she said. Anyways, I dropped dd off and then I went back on home. Drove by them again, but now she's in a field, he's behind her with both arms around her lifting her up and dragging her out of the field. She is kicking and screaming. There is a van pulled over on the side of the road with it's slider door open, of course this is the one day I give dd my cell phone. So I drove to the flower nursery (2 doors away) and called the pd, 3 cruisers came screaming down the road when I was on the phone, so someone else called too. I have no idea if she was being assaulted or if she was mentally ill or high and he could have been trying to help her, it scared the life out of me though. This is a very rural area and the 3 cruisers are probably the whole force on duty in the morning.
OMG!!! You may and the other person that called may have saved her life by calling the police if that was indeed the situation, my gosh that is scary!!!
That would have freaked me out too. I hope that girl is ok.
That's positively horrifying! Let us know if you see anything on the news this evening or in the newspaper. I feel good when I know there are still people like you who care about others and are willing to offer to get help.
You should be very proud. You absolutely did the right thing. MAYBE it was her Dad and she was trying to run away, or maybe it was one of the scenarios you mentioned. It is always better to err on the side of caution. Even the police will tell you that they would much rather respond to a false alarm than deal with an abduction or homicide. Or you very likely DID save her life. That gives me the chills! I don't know where you live in New England, but there was an incident on Tuesday in Acushnet, MA where a man tried to lift a little girl right off her bicycle in broad daylight. Fortunately, she knew to scream, "I don't know you. Help!!" He was frightened off and she ran to a nearby store. It is becoming a very scary world!
Wow, that's scary!!! I'm glad the police made it there, in case she was in danger. You did the right thing.
Goodness, I hope she's okay. I'm so glad you called.
Yes, I sure hope she is okay. It is a good thing you called. Who knows what the situation was, but these days, better safe then sorry.
How scary. That was good you called the cops and that someone else had, too! You might have saved her life!
Terrifying - and would hit home for me, since Jen is 21..........it gives me chills just reading your post. Kudos to you, you did the right thing!
