What Size Shoe Do You Wear.......
and what is your favourite brand and style? I wear a size seven (American), which I understand is the most common women's size. I am a casual dresser, so I prefer LL Bean and Lands End shoes. They seem to fit me well. In the summer, I LIVE in Columbia sandals that I buy from Zappos.com. I also get the best fit from New Balance for tennis shoes. I have severe arthritis in my knees, hands and feet, so restrictive shoes really bother me. I LOVE being barefoot. I look at all these cute little strappy numbers, and while they are very feminine, I could never wear them.
I grew a size when I was preggos, so now I'm a size 9! (I'm only 5 foot 3.) The only shoe I ever really wear are my Adidas running shoes! And, the occasional black sandal. Sometimes I can't wait to go back to work and not have to carry a toddler around! I can't even imagine carrying him in heels. Ha ha ha...makes me laugh just thinking about it! But, this time is precious and I'm SO very happy I have it!
Heidi - me, too. I always wore a six until I started having kiddos. And, you're right. Enjoy these precious years. They fly by.
I wear a size 8 now. I grew a half size with each pregnancy. I used to have such cute, tiny feet! I wear a LOT of flip-flops and I just pick up cheap pairs all over the place. My faves are probably from Old Navy. During the winter, I live in tennis shoes and love the way K-Swiss and Adidas fit, although I've been told they should fit very different foot types. I have semi-high arches and tend to roll my feet out (which hurts my ankles and hips) so I prefer to wear shoes, even just around the house. The rest of my family think shoes are a form of torture!
7.5 American, and my favorite brands are Adidas, Puma, and for dress shoes I'm a bit obsessed with Colin Stewart right now. (from Victoria's Secret catalogue)
I wear a size 10. Mine grew about 1/2 size when I was pg with my first, but have stayed the same since. Shoes...love them...but my feet are picky. I used to mostly wear birks, but discovered crocs. They may be ugly, but my feet issues have gone away. The toe boxes are so generous and the shoes are just perfect for my feet, exact arch placement, cushion etc. For tennis shoes...daily wear, ryka's only. The only atheletic shoe made specifically for a woman's foot. For actual tennis wear...I try on and try on shoes till I find one that fits. That means that I have several brands, the latest are by prince. Dress shoes, not too picky, anything by liz clairborn is good. I really go for comfort if I have to wear it longer than an hour I have some flip flops and dressy sandals, but really wear my crocs 95% of the time.
I wear an 8. And where flip flops all the time. I love old navys cheap flips the best. I wear New Balance or Addidas or Puma sneakers. I have very flat feet. But my feet never grew when I was pregnant, Never heard of that Weird....
Usually a 7, but occasionally a 7 1/2. I don't have a favorite brand really, although I tend to wear Nike tennis shoes. In the summer, I live in Old Navy & JCrew flip-flops...NOTHING else. In the winter I wear tennis shoes or some type of heeled black/brown shoe with just about everything. (I'm barely 5'3" as well.)
I wear an 8 now. It was a 7 until I got pregnant the first time! lol Oh well. I don't have a preference for shoe brand. I live in sandals or slip on canvas shoes (no backs) in the summer. In the winter I just wear tennis shoes. The ones I have now are New Balance, but I also have an old pair of Nike that I wear sometimes. I'm not too picky. Land's End used to make a two strap sandel that I loved, but they stopped making it a couple years ago. I was really bummed.
I love shoes. I wear a six. So many to pick from. I love Teva, Reef and ToeGoz flip flops. I love Born clogs in the winter. For church I would probably go with some PayLess heel things. Not in them long and no time to hurt the feet. Great topic. LOL.
I also grew a size in pregnancy. I was sooooooooo happy! Before I was a size 5. It was hard to buy shoes. Now I am a 6. 6 is easier to find/buy. I AM a snob with shoes. No cheap shoes for me. They must be leather. I can't stand the feeling of vinyl or fake leather. I find that the more expensive shoes last longer so they really are worth doling out the extra $ to begin with. I like merrel, teva, and dansco (got hooked by someone's recommendation on here) for sandals. I will not wear flip flops. I do not like anything between my toes either.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE SHOES! I just bought a pair of leather flip-flops from American Eagle, pricy at $45 but they have a squishy sole and are very comfy. I wear mostly sandals and mules, I have a pair of pointy flat silk mules with beads and seaqines (ok I know I spelled that incorrectly) all over them. I have a great pair of wedge sandals, they are black with beautiful chinese embroidery on the heals. In the winter I love boots, have all kinds of healed boots. I could go on and on, wish I could show you pictures. LOL! I do love shoes, but in the house I'm bare foot all the time.
I'm an 8 because of my long toes! lol... I have what my family calls "finger toes"! My mom has them too. If it weren't for my toes I'd probably have a 6 or 6.5 I live in flip flops during the summer and stretch wearing them out as long as my feet aren't freezing! lol... I also have a pair of slides that I love.
Oh, I forgot you asked what size, before pregnancy size 7, still the same. I remember asking my doctor after the last baby if my feet would go back to their normal size as DH would be quite upset if I had to start my shoe collection all over again.
I'm a 7.5. This is my kind of post, I love shoes, any shoes that fit my fancy I especially love the wedges right now, brings back memories of the late 70's early 80's. My sister wore them and I was too young. Lol. I also just bought a pair of bass (we have an outlet) dockers for $4.99. I love them. I have way too many shoes. Shoes fit my mood though.
I wear a size 12. I love shoes, but because of my size of shoe, you can't just buy them everywhere. So, I buy whenever I find a pair when I'm shopping locally (Payless). When I was growing up there weren't 12s anywhere to be found - so now I indulge. DH says I can't go on a trip without buying a new pair! (Last trip to Florida I bought 1 new pair to take & only bought 1 while gone.) I love my flip flops & sandals.
I wear a size 9. I love shoes, especially sandals. I am driving dh insane. I LOVE Merrell sandals. They have the most comfortable flip flops. I live in sandals in the summer. As for tennis shoes, I love Asics gel running shoes. I won't wear anything else. For some reason, they just fit me right. During the winter, I usually wear clogs. I like slip ons. Born clogs are one of my favorite brands. Now that we are moving to warmer weather, I am hoping I can wear my flip flops a lot more!!
I don't wear shoes, I wear skis.......... LOL J/K. I wear a 9.5 or 10 narrow. It is so hard for me to find shoes that fit properly because my feet are so narrow. I live in sandals in the summertime - both flat and with low heels, and in the cooler weather I wear sneakers, mules or boots. And I am a shoe freak. I LOVE Merrell, Born, Steve Madden, Antonio Bini, Nine West, and especially Jack Rogers and Bernardo because you can find narrow sizes in them. As for sneakers, I buy whatever feels good. I have a lovely bunion on my right foot which makes it difficult to wear closed in shoes. Usually Reeboks or Dr. Scholls sneakers work for me.
My name is Trina, and I recently realized I have a shoe addiction. I'm actually scared to count how many pairs of shoes, boots, sandals and sneakers I have. My shoes tend to gather under my desk because I kick them off when I sit at my computer. DD commented, "Wow Mom, you have a lot of shoes under your desk!" I looked, and there were 5 pair of flip flops, but that's NOT all of them. Yikes! I have worn a size 8 since I was a teen. My feet didn't change during pregnancy. I'm not picky on name brands, but prefer good quality shoes. Just to name a few... Lands' End, LL Bean, Bass, Dexter, Teva, Naturalizer, Clarks, Reebok, Adidas, ... I'm sure I'm forgetting several. LOL! In the summer I'm usually barefoot at home but wear flip flops or sandals out and about. As a SAHM I usually dress casually and have different sneakers, shoes and boots to go with whatever I'm wearing. I also have lots of dress shoes (flats, pumps, wedges, sandals, etc.). Many of them are from when I was teaching and they still fit. I'm a bargain shopper and rarely pay full price. In fact, right now is the perfect time to surf the Net for sandal sales. (NO Trina, NO more shoes!!) LOL! Another addiction: Bathing suits - But that's a totally different thread!
Crystal, I got these flip flops from VS and love them! They're on sale now for $9.00!
Oooh, Trina, thanks for the tip!! I could use some new flip flops (my pair was bought in San Antonio 2 years ago, they've run their course!!) Oh, and I'm another one whose feet didn't grow during pregnancy, but my mom's didn't change size until her second pregnancy, later in life, and she gained more weight that time. Might be a correlation there, I don't know.
I am an 8 now, used to be a 7. I'm not really a "shoe person." I buy whatever is reasonably comfortable, reasonably fashionable, and on sale! Then I wear them to death. What I'm in most this summer is a navy pair of Ralph Lauren flip flops. I do love DSW...I kind of turn into a "shoe person" while I'm there!
I wear a size 9. My DD who just turned 10 wears the same size as me. I don't have a favoite brand either. I wouldn't say I love shoes. I'm going to splurg this year though and buy a good pair since I am on my feet 6-7 hours a day. Many people have said "Clarks" are the way to go. I couldn't wear sandles like the ones Trina has shown. I hate the "thingy" between the toes.
I wear an 8 or 9 it all depends on the shoe. I live in Flip Flops pretty much all year round. When I take them off I have a tan line from the straps. I just splurged on a pair of $60 Flip Flops from Nordstroms that are very comfortable and have some Bling Bling on them so I can be a little dressy if I need too. LOL
Paula, my Mom also hates shoes with anything between the toes. Doesn't bother me a bit. I love flip flops because they're about the closest you can get to going barefoot, which is what I prefer if at all possible! Crystal, I had my kids at 32 and 34. I gained the same amount of weight during both pregnancies and my shoe size stayed the same. The baby factory is CLOSED so I won't find out if there is a correlation. LOL!
I was a 7.5 pre-kids, am now a sz 8 after 3 kids.
I wear a size 9. I love flip flops and sandals. I'm not picky on name brands, just style. The only shoe i've worn in the last 5 years are made my Nike. I've driven 45 minutes away to get the same shoe when my other ones wear down.
I have been told by my DH that if I buy anymore flip flops he is going to kill me.... I have over 60 pair last time i counted. I admit I have a problem but it is a cheap problem so I prefer to just let it go. I live in them about 8+ months a year because down here (Texas) it is 70+ for at least that much of the year. I love shoes of all sorts but being tall (5'11") I prefer flats because I don't like to tower over everyone (especially my DH who is a few inches shorter than me) I don't think I have ever had a favorite brand of shoes but well maybe my old bass sandals that i had to retire after about 5 years becasue they were falling apart and that is when I strated my flip flop collection. My feet never grew while i was prego, but my sisters grew a size with each of her DS so she went from a 7 to a 10.. And I guess I should say I wear a 7.5 to 8.
I'm with Karen...I wear skis too! Size 10AAA (that's VERY narrow). I'm not really into shoes because it is so hard for me to even find shoes that fit. I can wear some medium shoes since I've had kids (mostly just sandals and occasionally sneakers), but nice shoes have to be narrow. Size 10 narrow=very expensive. I don't have a brand I particularly like. I can't wear cheap shoes like Payless or Walmart because they don't fit. I do like to shop at Shoe Carnival for their buy 1 get 1 half off sale. Right now I need a pair of black heeled sandals and taupe heeled sandals since my dog ate those.
I wear an 8. My current favorite shoes are my crocs. Very comfy. I also wear flip-flops a LOT!
I wear a 9. They just changed the policy where I work and we can wear crocs, at the clinic. I haven't gotten any yet. They also decided we could wear colored pants to work, too, and now my life is complicated. No longer can I buy just a top now, I'll have to buy matchng pants, too! LOL! I like athletic shoes for work and casual, flats for dress, because I just don't like heels, and casual sandals in the summer. I like sandals that velcro, so they are easy on and off. I don't like sandals that are strappy and I want the strap around my heel. My kids are always losing their flip-flops and I have to stop walking, while they put them back on. Flat slip-ons, would be nice for something to just throw on, while I go out with the dog. High-heeled slip-on sandals look hard to wear, hard to walk in and I can't imagine driving in them.
I hate shoes. Because I wear a 7.5 EEE. So I have the exact opposite problem of you Karen and Pam. I have had wide feet all my life. I have been thin and fat and my feet stay the same. Thank God my feet did not get bigger during pregancy. It is terrible to find shoes and I have to pay a lot. I do love New Balance tennis shoes.
What are Crocs? I THINK I've seen them, but I'm not sure. I used to love my Tevas, but now I feel they don't give me enough support. Dawn, if you like velcro, and straps behind your heel, you'd love Columbia sandals. That's all I wear. They hold up well. I get mine at Zappos.com (love that site), but I think DSW carries them, too.
My favorite shoes are sandals. I love Dr. Scholls, but now I have to find them on the internet, as I can't find the original sandal in stores around here anymore. I am a size 7-1/2.
Hol, I have a pair of Columbia Sandals, but this year, I got some Teva sandals and I think I like those better! My Columbia sandals have a hard part, in the section that goes around my ankle and it irritates my skin just a little bit. I wear them outside, still, though, if I'm too lazy to go downstairs to get my other sandals, though! Crocs are plastic clogs. Crocs Website
I wear an 8 & 1/2 W. (I have chubby feet. LOL)
I wear a 9 and love my crocs. I don't think they are the most feminine looking shoe but they come in fun colors and are COMFY! My feet crave them!!! I have a light blue pair and ds has yellow and purple (LSU colors)! Dh won't wear them - he doesn't know what he's missing!
