I was looking for my other post about Gertie Balls, finally found it, and thought also about a new discovery of mine: Model Magic! It's made by Crayola and sooooo much better (at least at 2yrs. old!) than Playdough. It is NOT messy at all,and builds strength because it's a little harder to work with than playdough. I use it with my therapy kids a lot. Natalie is grossed out by playdough right now, but loves Model Magic. We just keep it in a ziploc bag so it never gets hard. Or, you can make something and let it harden as a model. Also, you can just use it on any surface, unlike playdough (at least IMO!) where I require a playmat underneath.

Oh, we love that stuff! The kids play with it all the time! It's definitely not as messy, and isn't as gooey, either.

My kids love Model Magic, too! We used to have a whole bunch of Model Magic doodads around the house. I'm not sure if we still have them, or not. Emily is awesome at making horse-heads out of the stuff.
