We started renting cottages on lakes 3 summers ago. The first year we did it we had so much fun that we decided to make it a summer tradition. The beauty is we can change the location each year if we want.

Finding a cottage takes a lot of surfing but I have fun doing it. These are the sites I've used thus far.

No issues thus far. Like I said, it takes a lot of surfing to find what you want. I'll even e-mail the owners if I have questions.

Wow, that's a beautiful place! I've just never even thought about anything but a hotel. Dh and I were talking last night, and we discovered that we could rent a condo in Myrtle Beach for a week at the same rate it would be for a week of hotel room! I guess the only big difference would be no housekeeping (which I really like!).
