My son 7 had his hernia surgery today.
Well so far so good. We had to be there at 6:00 am. We were back by 10:00 not to bad. He got sick once but is resting now. He was such a trooper. I am so proud of him. He didn't cry before at all and he even told us "don't worry I'll be okay." The nurse couldn't belive it she said he almost made her cry he was so sweet. He of course started to cry a little afterwards from the pain. That made me almost cry. But they gave him so obiviously good drugs because he was fine in about 10 min. So know just to get him recovered so he can go back to having fun this summer.
What a brave boy you have. I wish him a fast recovery! ((HUG))
Wishing him a speedy recovery. Did they give you meds for home? Usually they recover very quickly from hernia surgery. Even though there are limitations on activities for a couple of weeks, the pain part is usually not a problem after a couple of days. Good luck!
I'm glad everything well for you and you're DS.I'm wishing him a speedy recovery!!
((((HUGS))))) I hope he has a speedy recovery!!
I hope he feels better soon Beth!
How is he doing today??
He is still sleeping so we shall see. He slept through the night. Or at least I did not hear him. I got up once to check. Of course all the pain meds will be worn off that he took before he went to bed. So this will be the real test. I hope he wakes up before I go to work. Dh took today off. I didn't feel like we both should again. Since we work for the same place. Dh has tons of sick time. He is actually taking dd and her friend out today and grandma will stay with him for awhile. That is the main challenge keeping dd busy so he can rest. Dh ought to have a good time. LOL! Thanks for asking.
By tomorrow, he should feel LOTS better. Jen had bilateral inguinal hernia surgery at age 6, and on the 2nd day post surgery, she was outside playing, trying to climb into my neighbor's pickup truck. LOL Let us know how he's doing.
Hope all is well!
