My cousin's wedding
We were in Rochester, MN this weekend for my cousin's wedding! We had a blast. We drove their on Friday night, and stayed through Saturday night. We left this morning. I finally got to eat at an Outback Steakhouse! They had Ice Age: The Meltdown, on the in-room movies, so I finally got to see that! I thought it was hilarious. This cost us $10. On Saturday, the housekeeper forgot to give us an extra foll of toilet paper and we had to go to the front desk to get some, on Saturday, after the wedding. So, guess what, movie was free, because we were ever so slightly inconvenienced by that! The wedding was only an afternoon affair, so I had already scoped out a movie theater, so we could see Over the Hedge. FUNNY! Especially the last line of the movie! I laughed for several minutes, as the credits rolled! Found out not everybody charges $8.50 for an evening movie! The movie only cost us $7 X 4 people. We leave for South Dakota on Saturday! I'm totally freaking excited. We go the same way, as going to Rochester, only on Saturday, I get to up the hill and around the bend and see what is up there! On Saturday, we will make sure we don't forget the AC adaptor for the laptop, like we did this weekend. Also, for the vacation, we don't need to worry about packing dress clothes, nylons and dress shoes. My cousin made a beautiful bride and her twin sister made a beautiful maid of honor! Kristine and Tim made goo-goo eyes at each other through the entire ceremony. It was so sweet. During the obligatory slide show, they showed Kristine with a fish and fishing pole. Then they showed Tim. They showed Kristine camping, and then showed Tim camping. K playing music. T playing a guitar. It's like they have already shared the same lives! So, we got home about 2pm, today, and it's 3:37pm now, and we don't get to pick up the dog, until 6pm! Argh. Time is moving slowly now. She has been at the kennel, since about 8am, on Friday. I'm off to do more laundry!
Will you be visiting the Laura Ingalls Wilder sites in SD?
Sounds like you had a lot of fun!!! I absolutely hated boarding my dog last year, so yesterday I interviewed and hired a pet sitter to come twice a day, and that includes playing with her for 30 minutes each time and she will bring in my mail, newspaper, water plants and alternate which lights are left on, and even the TV and/or radio! Quite a bargain, and just slightly more than boarding the dog. And Dawn, I can't remember the last time I wore pantyhose - even with formal wear! UGH! It's so freaking hot here, I can't imagine adding another layer! Hope you have fun on your vacation. Take lots of pics!
We were in an air-conditioned church! It wasn't a big deal. Yes, we are driving to De Smet, SD, on Saturday, staying in a bed-and-breakfast, and going to the Laura sites in the morning, before we drive the rest of the way to Rapid City, on Sunday. De Smet Sites
Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I bet your dog was happy to see the family. That is why I am so popular here, people leave their dogs with me in my house. No cages, no kennels, and lots of company LOL
So glad you were/are having fun!!!! I love weddings. They sound like a sweet couple. You'll have to let us know how SD goes. Take care & have fun!!!
Jasmine is happy to be home. The guy said she was fine, while she was there. She had to go over by him, to get one last pat on the head, while Gary was paying for it! It was cute! Then we had to throw her balls a few times, at home, because she was so hyper! It was time to eat supper, then, too, so we went to Quizno's and brought it home, so that we wouldn't just get her home, and then leave to go out to eat.
I'm glad you had a great week-end.I'm actually looking into a house sitter for our dog when we go to Disny.I left my dog with my brother when we went to Dominican a couple of yrs ago and he got away the 1st night(ARGH)Thankfully he got him the next day at the SPCA.
So, how did you like Outback? Glad you had a good time! Have fun on you upcoming vacation. I know you've been looking forward to it for a while now.
We tried the Bloomin' Onion. Gary and the kids weren't that excited about it. I liked it, but if I wanted to eat my dinner, I couldn't really eat the much of it. I had the Outback Special, with the 8-oz sirloin and a sweet potato. DH had the prime rib and a sweet potato Kids both had the grilled chicken breast and mashed potatoes, from the kids' menu, and that was more than plenty for them. If we go again, sometime, I think we will skip the onion. We got bread, after we ordered and that would have been enough appetizer for us.
