Fleece, Nylon, or Cotton?
I'm looking into buying a few blankets now that we have beds that need them. I want to buy the warmest ones but I don't know which is the warmest. Should I buy a fleece blanket, a Nylon blanket (like a Vellux), or a cotton blanket? When is the best time to buy them? TIA
I LOVE fleece blankets for the winter. They are light weight and soft, yet hold body heat in. I like the cotton waffle weave blankets for the summer. I don't care for Velux, but that's just me. July is a great time to buy balnkets, as many stores like Penney's have White Sales. However, Walmart prices are good year round.
I like bedding that *breathes*, so cotton or cotton fleece works best for me. I hate the Velux, it makes me sweat.
I actually think that knit blankets are the best. The little holes actually hold heat in better. (Air tends to hold warmth better than solids, so the air pockets tend to be warm. I'm a science nerd, can you tell?)
We like polar fleece blankets.
I really like the knit with the little holes. Velux makes me SWEAT, sweat, sweat.
Ditto on the Velux. I think it's because it has a foam rubber core.
We looooove polar fleece blankets in our house. We call them the magic blankets!!! I magically fall asleep all the time(in a matter of minutes LOL)
My kids have Vellux blankets. Sarah is usually bundled under all kinds of layers, and I haven't heard any complaints from her. Emily got tired of hers, because it wouldn't lay nice on the bed, so it's not even on her bed. She has all these quilts and a fleece blanket with a horse on it, so she manages in her own way. DH and I have a knit blanket and a quilt, for the cold nights. If vellux makes you sweat, then I don't want that! I get hot enough at night, as it is!
